I recently crashed my bike.
My dealer says the insurance claim process is 7 months.
Is that normal?
Been thru this before with my GSXR.

The insurance claim process doesn't take that long.

It's getting the damn parts that takes a long while, coz have to source, order & import.

how long did it take for you? I am almost 3 months in now.

Insurance took 1 month, parts is taking a while...

To be honest, I can't remember exactly coz that was decades ago ago.

But for sure the adjuster came within a few weeks of filing the claim, then a few weeks later approved.

But the parts had to be brought in via Singapore. That took a long time

Another time I lowsided in Subang, I decided I couldn't be bothered waiting for months... so I advertised on Sing Bike Forum & drove to Singapore to collect used & new parts myself. But yeah... that was before RM went down the shithole (roughly about RM2.2 per SGD1 at the time if I remember correctly... heck I used to ride to Ah Boy's behind Sim Lim every time I needed new tyres), so you can imagine how long ago that was.

Those days Singapore was a haven for used parts because they would scrap their bikes at the end of their COE. Most of us made pilgrimages to Ahboy's, Motoworld etc to buy jackets, helmets etc. The Suzuki parts dealer used to be along Jalan Besar right in front of Sim Lim. And Msian customs were either none the wiser or they couldn't care less.

How times have changed!
