I wanted to use it but the number of merchants available are far much lesser than those who use the 3 giant e-wallets.

Would use it if more merchants do. But most of them use Maybank/ TnG/ GrabPay

E-wallet can still fund with credit cards.

DuitNow QR works like debit card; meaning you need to have money in your bank account that is associated for DuitNow QR.

Duitnow QR is a national project .. more banks and ewallet providers are in the pipelines to integrate with single QR code .. meaning you can pay the merchants with one QR code with either bank accounts or Ewallet
*
Yes, Singapore has been using it - national QR payment system

Hope the integration could move in a faster pace.

Eventually they would allow credit card to link with DuitNow QR. the idea is to compete with e-wallets, if banks don’t provide this option, would be cannibalized by e-wallet players

And about the merchants, actually you may use other banks Scan to Pay QR function to pay Maybank QR Pay merchants. They haven’t done the rebranding but they are under DuitNow QR now. I’ve tried it a few times smile.gif

Unfortunately that DuitNow QR doesn't support Payment QR.
This mean that we are still limited to use a few ewallet which supported by merchant

Yes your merchant QR account, not your personal CASA.

If you haven't got a merchant account, a lot of banks are having promotions to sign up. But just like credit/debit card, every transaction is not FOC.

Which one is postponed?
Somebody mentioned earlier that T&G e-wallet has been postponed.
And the go-live date for GrabPay is removed.

Today is 15/12/20.
If removed, it means it is already go-live now.
