Sequential Black Illusion EVO X

Tried to transplant the motor with the Hyper Dash motor I bought from Tamiya but it did not work.
Was told by my Electronic engineer colleague that i need to change the transistor on the electronic board to allow more current to flow to the Hyper dash motor.
Will get my new transistors tonite and tried making the modification tomoro. Lets hope it works coz the Hyper Dash motors are really killer fast & powerful...lol

whoa
self modify the splitter n diffuser?
nice

tamiya motor cannot plug n play?
i was thinking of that but never tried

forgot to say i hav a evo7 also tongue.gif
*
Nope, cant plug & play. Found out last Saturday when i went to buy this plasma dash motor frm Tamiya, this lil bugger has a RPM of up to 25,000 at the correct load of 3V and 2.8 mA. Did the 'transplant and the motor wont even turn one bit.

Checked online for the stock motor, and found out that it only has a max RPM of around 7000~9000 for load of 3V.

http://www.mabuchi-motor.co.jp/cgi-bin/cat...CAT_ID=fa_130ra

Checked with the DC power supply console in the office, the stock motor consume current of 0.1 mA at 3V and the Tamiya motor consume current of 0.6 mA at the same voltage load.

Then gave circuit board to my coll to check...lol, and he found out that the transistors used in the board is only supplyin current up to 0.1 mA and thats why the tamiya motor cant run.

So gonna do a transistor surgery tomoro morning and hope it works...fingers crossed...lol

Looking forward to see ya Evo 7..

No prob Nlik, more than happy to share my passion here.... smile.gif , as for the evo, purposely leave it in flat black to get the stealth black effect...hehehe.

Update on the RC engine mod, the transistor change was successful but then again the Tamiya motor now is lacking of torque. Tried to add a capacitor at the power point before the transistor but didnt help either...sigh.
So now need to give the car a nudge before it can run....hahaha. The problem lies with the amperage of the battery.

I connected the car to an external DC power supply and the engine responds nicely. Currently trying on those Ni Mh batterries with 2600mA to see whether it will work.

If its still doesn't work fine then guess I'll have to downgrade to a less powerful motor like the torque tuned one and save the plasma dash & sprint dash motors i have now for mods on the upcoming light drift package cars.... ;P

Here is a nice link to types of motor available for modding...

http://rc132.free.fr/en/boost_moteur.html

Will post up the pics of the mods i made on the board soon... smile.gif

i tried to play around with the alignment by setting the alignment button to middle or more to right.. but the car somehow still tend to sway to left.  rclxub.gif .. if i turtle the car and press the remote.. somehow pressing left on the control. the car doesn't seems to be very responsive to turning left but if i press right button the car doesn't have problem turning right.

Try to check the front wheels whether the tyres are mounted correctly and there is not too much gap or space between the wheels and the pin.

No battery?? hmm...you got it as a single car or pack with controller?? coz usually there are batteries for both the car & controller included in the packaging.

There is a small level switch on the right side when the back of the car is facing you. Just turn the level anti clockwise upwards to power on the car.. smile.gif

As promised here are the pics showing the mods done to one of my CAUL cars.

user posted image

Changed the stock transistors to a higher spec bipolar transistors that passes higher ampere to the motor power input. "Highlighted with pink circles"

user posted image

Motor changed to Tamiya's 4WD Torque Tuned Motor. Have to some minor modifications to the motor by removing both of the brass gear out and drill the other hole end on one of the brass gear so that i can make go in deeper, the other brass gear is not used. Also Cut the other end of the shaft shorter so that the car body can fit in.

user posted image

Added a condesor at the battery terminal to provide more stabil voltage, not sure whether this helps much or not though... tongue.gif

The new motor really rocks, giving the car much higher acceleration and speed but consumer battery power like crazy...lol. Now gotta use rechargeable batteries to give a longer play time... tongue.gif

Anyway below is my latest CAUL...a fluoro green RX-7, did not a very good job for the paint on the front of the car... sigh. This should be the last work on CAUL for the time being.

can perform some mini drift?  tongue.gif
*
lol, thanks but i have lousy paintwork skill... tongue.gif

It can do spins and donut drift only...haha, the steering mechanism is not that good for real drifting. It can be done easily by tapping the rear tyres with those wire insulator tape but I believe it can be done without any tape to the rear tyres if the motor are more powerful than current one...

Mine is home made cost about $10 bucks
How about yours???
BTW Mazda RX-7 is not a pace car lol =)
*
Thanks... wink.gif , I designed the track myself based on the Sepang F1 circuit layout and then got it printed on a 6"x8" outdoor banner for RM 72.

LOL, i know its not a pace car but I didn't manage to get my hands on one though i've seen some ppl here have this rare pace car Qchoros..

Nice JGTC R35 you have there, izzit Qchoro or Qsteer?? I only have the standard R35 Qsteer...

Just to share my latest Qsteer car, nothing new & special. Got it from a toy store in Melaka during my recent jalan jalan cari makan trip there, found the store accidentally. There are quite a number of Qsteer collection there. Also this thread need some activities.. ;P

Got it running on slick wheels that come with the set with highspeed gear and motor from my C4 Corvette but unfortunately this car is abit defective, steering doesn't center back well so the car tends to donut when hard cornering... yawn.gif
