suspecting old fan humming of old age (20 years+) , I bought new Panasonic 3-Blade Fan and installed according to manual.

but then when switched on, i can hear humming or 'woong woong woong ' sound .

the hook, the big rubber thing , screw all tight and nothing is loose vibrating.

is it the ceiling's hook is bad or?

4 other fan in my house, 2 is NEMC, one is kdk, one is panasonic (previous model) doesn't have this noise.

bought the new fan this monday only. 26 October.

seems to be common proble... my house have 4 panasonic fan. ...
most of them have have issue or have it repair before.

happen within a year or 2- due to capacitor board. - around 100 to replace the part + 80 service cost.
some other people also report same issue- just that seems like i am more bad luck

but for u- just within a week- try to ask them to check gua

In my experience, Panasonic have very good after sales support. Call up their helpline, they normally can send a technician over to check. (but dunno if this will be possible due to CMCO).

20 year old fan will have a speed oscillator? Set it to 5 and try again. New fan don't need an oscillator.

Whats speed oscillator?
I reused the old one electronic regulator , from national one too. Inside it have a big chunky thingy with copper wire .

Use the new regulator, the old one probably giving impure power to the fan like disco light. Capacitors in the regulator box tend to fail after 10 yrs.
