suspecting old fan humming of old age (20 years+) , I bought new Panasonic 3-Blade Fan and installed according to manual.
but then when switched on, i can hear humming or 'woong woong woong ' sound .
the hook, the big rubber thing , screw all tight and nothing is loose vibrating.
is it the ceiling's hook is bad or?
4 other fan in my house, 2 is NEMC, one is kdk, one is panasonic (previous model) doesn't have this noise.
bought the new fan this monday only. 26 October.

QUOTE(acbc @ Oct 28 2020, 01:34 PM) 20 year old fan will have a speed oscillator? Set it to 5 and try again. New fan don't need an oscillator. Whats speed oscillator? I reused the old one electronic regulator , from national one too. Inside it have a big chunky thingy with copper wire . This post has been edited by StuartLee2015: Oct 28 2020, 01:36 PM

Update : Changed the old National Fan Controller to the one that came with the new Panasonic Fan's Electronic Regulator, it seems that the humming noise when switched on has quiet down.
Will update again in few days.

QUOTE(stormer.lyn @ Oct 29 2020, 08:45 PM) Psst... boss, if you reverse the fan blade, meaning you install it upside down, the slope of the blade IS STILL CORRECT and you will still get downward wind. Not saying you did, but .... I followed this , I installed correctly. the sticker with do not remove is pointing towards ceiling, so i can't be wrong in the blade installation... FYI, it's F-M15A0VBWH This post has been edited by StuartLee2015: Oct 29 2020, 11:09 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 29 2020, 07:46 PM) Tukar sekali the bearing since you are opening it. You need to buy the 3 jaw puller from Shopee. Lol.. i mentioned earlier, the new fan have wong .... woooong ..... woooong ... as soon as i switched on the fan switch. ( the fan spinning to the selected speed, eg: 2 )... and once it's completed spinning at speed 2, the woooong wooong.... will presist until i switch off the fan switch. the woooong sound stop. the fan still spinning though. * Old National Fan Controller installed. After that, i changed the old National Fan Controller to the one come included with the new fan, the wwoooooong sound no more already. bearing is okay... lol This post has been edited by StuartLee2015: Oct 29 2020, 11:14 PM
