A few tips I'd like to share that have helped me improve.
Some of you may have already done this.
Hope this can help.
A tip for Momo users.
All 6 buttons on my wheel are already in use and I wanted to assign INCREASE BOOST / DECREASE BOOST.
I realized last night I can use the vertical gear shifter,
shift up/increase boost
shift down/decrease boost
WHEEL SETTINGSFinally fixed my wheel settings the way I want it.
I've deleted all the other settings that were in that folder so that when the game loads, it automatically loads my wheel settings by default as it is the only wheel setting file left in that folder.
Another tip, I find I drive much better the closer my monitor is to my wheel, 30 cm.
Tip for personal practice with AI.-Never use INVULNERABILITY, you'll avoid taking risks and decrease spins and crashes.
-Never press ESC after a crash, try to make it to the pit as quick as you can with the damage you have and practice pit entry with SPEED LIMITER. Then you can press ESC once you've stopped for the pit crew.
SEAT POSITIONI used a chair with no wheels, added 4 rubber caps at the end of each leg, now the chair never moves. Padded with 2 cushions for my back and butt. Made marks on the floor so that I can find the same position every time.
I tape my pedals down to the floor, they never move.
I hate the angle of the Momo pedals, they sort of force you to sit up straight. I try to pull my chair back as much as possible so that my legs are extended and arms slightly bent, you end up sort of sitting more like an F1 driver, leaning back a bit. I find that with my legs extended I have
more control over the throttle, eliminating some weight from the leg and foot, made a BIG difference. Find the middle where both arms and legs feel comfortable.
FRAMERATE?Mine is high enough that I run everything on FULL.
You get more depth perception from trackside objects, etc.
There again, find the limit your PC can handle.
SOUNDI like it loud but the high treble of the engine sort of hurts, so, I went into windows play control properties, play control slider, (first on the left )/click ADVANCED, turn the bass all the way up and treble at 25%. You get more bass ,engine sounds nicer (to me anyway) and doesn't hurt yer ears.
Faster Loading GameGo to your Main Rfactor folder and rename the folder MovieFiles to xMovieFilesx (I use the x, allows me to remember I made the change and keep old file in same folder). This gets rid of some of the movies when you load up rFactor, especially that FS One song that sounds like a funeral.
