As title. I'm looking for monitor 27" and above. Found acer vx272up for rm1119. Support 1440p resolution. While acer vx270p support 1080p for rm828. My question, it's worth to pay more for 2k resolution? I'm using my pc mostly for gaming, and sometimes for movie. I dunno either 1080p and 1440p would give me any different or not.
Btw, my pc spec is rx580 with ryzen 5 2600. Plan to upgrade to gtx1070 maybe next year if I can find cheap one
Worth. I would prefer gaming at medium settings in 1440p than high or ultra settings on 1080p. Aliasing artifacts is less jarring and FPS games works better at spotting farther away players.
I don't know. Personally I've tried 4k monitor before and can't really tell the difference. Probably if you get a much larger diameter one, then the resolution becomes important. Like going from 4.3" 720p (sony Expedia z compact) to 6" 720p (zenfone 6 2014) really can feel the 6" lacking too much. So need 6" 1080p.
Rather than 1440p, I'd rather go higher refresh rate.
Of course, if you're talking about sizes like 55" then it becomes sony xperia vs asus zenfone 6 again.

never go fullhd with 27" u can see the pixels if fhd in 27" fhd only for 24" and below qhd is perfect for 27" to answer your question, if your gpu is powerful enough then itw worth it
Go for the 1440p monitor the extra resolution is worth it even for browsing alone. Note that you can still set the game resolution to 1080p when gaming if your gpu can't handle it.

just got my 27gl850, definitely worth the upgrade !!!!
1440p is definitely better than 1080p la.... for me...27" is really small. I actually sold my AOC 27" and upgraded to a 34" ultrawide (see below) . satisfied. in the future if got money i would like to try the gigantic samsung 49" !

1080p - this is 34" Ultrawide 2560x1080 IPS 144hz, you can easily see the pixel edge issue for certain games even apply full AA and AF. Wording a bit pixel edge issue also.
1440p - this is 27" Wide 2560x1440 IPS 144hz, everything just superb sharp and smooth, from browsing, documents to gaming. <<-- The best choice and Balance in Image Quality v/s GPU gaming performance.
2160p - this is 55" Wide 3840x2160 OLED 120hz (TV), you need to have a very powerful GPU, else you may forget about 4K gaming.
In summary, for display size of 27", suggest you go for 1440p, you will be very happy on how clear and sharp on everything. But you probably should upgrade your GPU 1st before go for 1440p.
Since you already target purchase better GPU, it is wise don't get any display which is 1080p if size more than 24".
