funny thing about this solution
my wiper previously also skip

i got free bottle of windscreen washer, instead of pouring it into the water reservoir
i put it into a bottle, mix it with water and spray it all over the windscreen and wipe it
it did resolve the issue

but i'm not using cheapo wiper, am using bosch aerotwin

Bosch aerotwin skips like mad 😭 adjusted angle to be perpendicular with the windscreen at both the starting position and maintenance position with 2 spanar method, arm tension got.

I noticed when it stops at maintenance position the spread of the wiper is not consistent though. Some facing forward some backwards.

Windscreen is clean too just done coating. The same aerotwin put on another car, wipes perfectly streak free

Need to clean the blade w tissue as well.
Personally I think NWB makes better rubber wipers.

Possibly, because it was all good with old wiper until maintenance wash ("refresh" coating done a year ago) + wiper change recently

Right, the shop was kind enough to help check on the problem tomorrow. First time hearing NWB tho, Jap co? If the problm is not solved I'll try out NWB then. Rubber wiper all the way instead of silicone

NWB was the OEM supplier for Myvi 2006 wiper last time. I used a few pairs already.
Nowadays seem to be under Denso umbrella

The con then: Not commonly found at all spareparts.. unlike bosch.. but nowadays with shopee and all easier to buy online

Shop redid the coating ... Seems like the shop had to thin out the coating to balance between the skipping. Water doesn't form beading as much now. But the wiper performance did improve. Citing "new wiper was very soft and melekat" rclxub.gif

Thanks for suggesting NWB, will definitely try it out next pair. Cheaper than aerotwin too

Is it like rainx coating? Where rain water becomes droplets and easily flows away?

Rainx is silicone based, then you have Aquapel, Soft99 Glaco, etc etc. I did ceramic coating for my windscreen. Yes water beads instead of sheeting

Is there any advantage of trying to lift up the wiper and put it down so the blades touch the screen straight 90 degree rather than slanted after usage? because when the wiper sweeps and returned to the park position it (the blades) will usually be slanted at an angle due to direction of the sweep.

all else fail, just try change the wiper, i suggest NWB aqua, previously other brand i tried all chatter, but NWB is the least sound and chatter of all. NWB aqua is cheaper than aerotwin or PIAA also.

the wiper arm spring is too weak to hold the wiper down now with the coating and all
plain glass and silicone doesn't judder, but with additional coating it will 'grip, let go, grip, let go' and cause judder
