my 1316 is running 4gb ram but our 32bit vista only support 3gb so in windows it shows 3gb. dunno software/hardware will utilise all 4gb or just 3gb ?

i bought my first 1316 specs u all know la but 2 diff things from my 2nd set is my 1st set optical drive from toshiba/samsung while my 2nd set is liteon. my 1st set hdd is from fujitsu n 2nd set hitachi, btw fujitsu so much quieter. my 2nd set oredi have dead pixel when i brought it home and on in within a sec. all running good except wifi prob like earlier our fren loli complain wifi lost signal n have to resatrt system. things like webcam, fingerprint, touchpad/screen, heat are no prob for me. havent try blutooth n dvdrw n create recovery cds.

tx2000 will be the same as ours just the wacom thing n will cost us like 6-7k? even our higher end model cost 5k+(non-wacom) in some countries they selling both tx1000 n 2000.

Added on February 4, 2008, 12:04 amone more thing
my 1st set WEI lowest is 2.7(graphics) tested few times
my 2nd set WEI lowest is 3.0(graphics) weird. others same.

4.7
5.4
3.1
3.0
4.9

this athlonx2 1.8 is slightly faster than my celeron 1.86ghz x3100 2gb ram. abt 0.1-0.3 faster for amd. if compare to c2d, athlon saupei.

anyone of u having problem when resume from hibernation, the wifi couldn't detect any wifi spot anymore............
or wifi suddendly DC during usage?
*
for mine i did have dc prob but not when i resume from hibenate mode. mine is when u dl sumthing running at highspeed(mine 1mb tmnut) 80-150kbps it will dc after 10-15mins. sumtimes still can find the router but coudlnt connect. sumtimes cant even find the wifirouter. any of these happane i just put in sleep mode n resume back n it works fine. note: only when dl-ing stuffs it will dc. if i use it for surf net no prob. update driver, update hp assistant wifi n disable the asistant all to no avail. hp person told be to keep update those driver. they said could be the internal antenna malfucntion. i dont understand y its faulty it could be the swivel screen design not so good? it seems like a common prob for tx series.

its good that ur machine didnt get hot. mine is unbearable hot. running at full speed can be 60-70deg cel in air cond room. no aird cond 70-80deg. unable to sit the machine on my lap. battery not so good. 6cell 1hour plus + heavy for 12.1. design damn 7 nice(tx1000) not tx2000. but still gud buy at 2799. very gud buy indeed. i sold mine after one mth of usage.

ya, tx2000 seem achieve alot of owner satisfaction level, drawback juz some of its outlook(the silver keyboard perhaps).
RM 2799 seem a great deal ever... who ever never get tx1000 will have chances to get tx2000 instead.
btw, i think the remote comes together with the package, there is no need buy the remote optionally.

TX 2000 still running that hot? question.

juz wonder, is that worth for TX1000 fans upgrade to TX2000?

i believe HP TX series at this lowered price can easily kill Acer and Dell.. HP is great indeed, in term of outlook and quality.
*
yes tx2000 still hot but only apply to those athlon chip. tx2000 with turion should be cooler.

well what to do... unless you get those protable cooling pad.  I was thinking of getting a portable cooling pad.  less then half the price but the quality of the pad is really bad.  I saw one with 2 fan that can fold.  really neat but i dunno la... the quality just turn me off.  when i travel i just leave the pad at home.

i think all the AMD mobile chips are hot.  My wife Turion is as hot as my TX.  one thing for sure, laptop with AMD mobile chip are not leg/lap friendly.  My company issue Core2Duo is so much cooler.
*
then itsnot a good choice amd. but 2799 its a steal.

60 is cool enough. mine ex-tx1316au shoot up tp 80deg cel n shut down itself. i sold it after a month used. currently using a intel dual core (not c2d) constantly at 69-73 deg cel range running at full speed with photoshop, broswer, 2 x msn, wmp etc running 24/7. if play games will up to 80+ but dun feel as hot as my old tx. i guess nvidia is the culprit.
