I'm sorry to butt in like this, my Samsung is not doing so well.

I'm in Penang (Bayan Lepas). How do I get a Red 128 Iphone 12, at this FMCO?? I heard there is +1yr warranty through Senq? Is there a better deal out there?

Got my phone today I must say that Senheng is going places with their hunger.
You wouldn't believe it if I said I chatted them up via the app, and a few sms and clicks later I already paid for the device.
Today morning the same staff came all the way, and dropped the phone into my laps.

First impressions - Iphone 12 is too big. I have a pang of regret with not getting the mini. I was too focused on resale value. Back button top left, swipe from bottom, are 2 handed actions....My S10e can do it from 1, with a bit of effort. If anyone has a Mini 12 128GB and product Red, you wanna swap let me know (Do compensate me slightly though haha).

Second impression - The Red is not red enough. THis is like salmon pink. Not deep candy red like MUFC red.

Third - I knew this before getting the phone, but man, no faceID with mask is a hassle. Add to that the big size and swipe from bottom, I think finger gymnastics reach a new level for me.

Fourth - Wow, flat screen. Where have you been? Samsung please, please stop curving your screens.

Others - I'm glad I paid for a Dr Fone whatsapp transfer.

I'm eagerly waiting for a cheap case + tempered glass from Shopee.

Thanks for any help in advance.

I also get ard 6.5hrs SOT

For you guys who think this is low, this is my personal record for any phone, ever.

All my androids with 3000mAh batteries or more could never even hit 4.5hrs. And I’m not a heavy user at all. WhatsApp and email n browsing is my usual load at work and at home. With the new phone I even download a lot more apps than usual so it’s a real positive experience for me.

Just a background, my company IT policy will be installed into any android or IPhone and with that it kills android battery. Plus I work in RF industry so my workplace is a cacophony of multiple enterprise WiFi AP’s, and RF testing and interference that you cannot imagine. A weak modem or poor SW will just collapse when introduced to my office. So far I’m happy. Time will tell

no worries  with iPhone and enjoy your time with it. iPhone is smart enough to read your usage pattern

thanks.
I'm liking it, performance is great.
I bought another 2 lightning to 3.5mm to use my old stuff.

Samsung Pay - Something that I dearly miss.

I think so far that's all, no further major complaints. What works, works damn well.

The recent QR code payments from touch n go, and others are making the payment thingy less painful. However, Apple Pay would make it perfect. Just have to wait.

wow, team Yokomo! brings back some great memories. My last TC was MR4-TC SD CGM. What a beast.

E wallets are ok, but nothing beats waving your phone around like your credit card.....I had it in my phone, my wife carries the physical card.

Hey guys I don't know where I should post this but if I were to buy iphone 12 on installment plan, which plan is the best ya? I've been looking at machines iphone for everyone and some telcos but couldn't really make my mind. Sorry if this is not the right place to ask.

i bought mine with Senheng/Senq online. During checkout there were options for Hong Leong Bank, Public and a few other banks for easy payment. But all charged RM50 and above.

Shopee has a built in installment system for Public bank also.

I just got my Torras case today :
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/i1522434...ls.item_title.1

I bought this specially for the screen lip / front bezel gap to front display, especially with a 0.3mm tempered glass.

I measured the gap with my caliper, it did not actually achieve 0.9mm gap all round, it is more like 0.7 to 0.8mm at the straight edges. Only at the corners is it >0.9mm.

Its a little too smooth and very slippery. I'm torn on whether to keep buying cases and experiment till I satisfied. I kinda promised myself to stop this...haha

last 2 days I switched on night mode and I can notice a big difference in battery life. I think I can manage 1 extra hour of Screen time with night mode.

can you elaborate how is your charging practice? Every night, over night? How long do you have 100% battery full?

so this means you disconnect even before 100% right? I think this is an important aspect of battery longevity.

So, DJI (worlds best commercial drone OEM) also uses Lithium batteries for their drones. In these applications we consider it to be absolutely mission critical as a flying drone with a bad battery can crash and harm lives. For DJI drones, you always want the batteries to be charged to the max chemical capacity (for maximum flight time) and maximum longevity (so that your drone dont suffer catastrophic power loss in flight) and I think they have the best research in this field.

DJI has implemented all sorts of self discharge in their batteries, which are aimed at not allowing max storage over long periods. So far over the years I think their latest method is to enforce discharge after 1 day of 100% (4.35V), slowly going down to 50% over a few days (their battery packs have built in discharger). This method was implemented for DJI Mavic Air 2 (2020 model) batteries and so far I've not seen 1 case of battery bloat failure. Some others like self discharge after 10 days or 4 days, I've seen many having bad batteries after even 1 year or less.

I think this can be implemented for phones too. We always plug in overnight and this drip charges the battery at 100% over long periods during sleep. Over time, I can say my phone battery spends more time being fully charged than any other state. And that causes damage to the cells too.

ip12 is indeed a very good phone. but current situation really force me to sell at below marketprice.

What price you sell is the new market price. That’s how supply and demand works…..

Why are you selling anyway if it’s such a good phone?

He meant once Apple Store website (https://www.apple.com/my/) no longer list iPhone 12 series in their website, then the price will drop significantly and all other supplier will start to clear their stock  thumbup.gif

That’ll be quite long to go isn’t it, seeing that iPhone 11 is still listed until today. I fully expect IPhone 12 to be available alongside 13 for a year. At way less than today of course. Near to IPhone 11 prices today, is easy to conjecture.

not to burst your bubble, but Msia won't execute new price for IP12 until IP13 is AVAILABLE FOR SALE in Msia. It can be immediately or due to supply issue it can take months like IP12 in Sept 2020.

October 2020...so maybe not that far off.

But only reduce 500 which is already reflected in today prices....just buy when your phone kaput, no need to time the market man.

I closed my eyes and pull the trigger when my Samsung kaput also.
