So far I didn't face such battery drain due to this app. Only problem I face is the barcode scanner is always laggy.
*
i've never had issue with either battery drain OR laggy QR scan either, but its very important to have a good internet connection when you scan. Either 4G or Wifi.

i had the worst battery in ios15.0.1, background app refresh + Waze was 100% on all the time. I thought it was a feature.
I turned it off for Waze and everything improved a lot. Back to normal.

Another bug was the camera photos not being saved properly in the camera app. This happened about 3 times in the last month.

It will only show a 0kb blur preview after snapping. The only fix back then was to restart the phone. I'm already in 15.1 and hopefully this doesn't re-appear.

apple probably has at least 2-3 major supplier of battery cells for each phone. and each has their own sources too. I think batch to batch, supplier to supplier there should be tolerances in terms of degradation. Matter of luck. What is more important is that I find my iphone battery life stable, whereas my samsung would drop like a rock after 2 weeks (when i'm finally done installing all the apps I need). Even if the battery chemically degrade, at least the software is not doing weird stuff....except for IOS15.0.1 when i had 100% background app. Even then it was easy to fix (kill waze from background app refresh). With Android you'd be hunting wakelocks with a fine tooth comb, and then after you find the culprit you will break something else when you fix something ...

remember that IP12 is manufactured in the time of Covid, whereby Lithium supply is kind of in a squeeze.

A lot of energy companies re-gearing towards EV, perhaps macroeconomic effects are in play too.

Do not see the relevant seriously. If u ask me. 256gb on iPad is overkilled especially for ur basic iPad.

Why I recon to go for 256gb minimum for iPhone Becos iPhone u will use it to take photos and videos. given the iPhones have improved in photos and videos quality over the years, the size of them will get bigger and bigger.

Buying a 128gb will limit the capability of u to take photos and videos especially videos. If you are taking 4K videos, call 128gb will become the limitation of ur iPhone soon.

Same apply to ur iPad, u will not use ur iPad to take photos or videos especially urs is basic iPad Becos the camera is not so fantastic. If u are telling me that u are using iPad Pro that has better capable camera and u do use it to take photos and videos, maybe u will need more storage but for ur case I am sure 256gb is totally overkilled. U check ur current usage u should be able to tell.

So if u asked me, ur choice of storage options for ur iPad and iPhone are totally opposite.

He never said a 256GB iPad, just a regular one that can be used for maybe heavy apps etc like games etc that take up space.

I think 128gb you can get by on the phone for now. I’ve been using my 128 ip 12 for a year now and at about 90gb used. I also take a load of photos and videos but I’m normally not inclined to take 4K as I think it’s also overkill.

The key here is to make sure you have cloud storage such as iCloud or OneDrive or Google drive. I’m using a 50GB iCloud for Googledrive and a 1tb OneDrive for others.

switch promotion

RM3049 already lor..

Or you can wait until ip14 release in september, ip12 will be sold at RM2899.

If you can wait until march 2023, ip12 will probably be at RM2500 or 2600 range

I meant for 128gb haha but thanks for the tip.

just curious if had to choose or upgrading coming from user 6s for few years should better get 12 for the a14 chip or 11 pro max?
*
if brand new vs brand new, I might go for the Iphone 11 pro max at the same price. But when I bought my Iphone 12 it was cheaper than 11 pro max and I couldn't justify spending more. Today can you get a brand new one?

If you are comparing used vs new its a random crap shoot.

One saving grace for the Iphone 12 which is important to me, is that the ultra wide angle can do night mode. It is damn important for me, so 2 pros for Iphone 12 for me.

Edit - just remembered the most damn importantest thing, Iphone 12 can unlock with face mask + face shield. Iphone 11 cannot do so.....Well this point just kills everything for me.

how about used vs used ones? or is it still 12 again because of the a14 chip

performance and battery wise besides camera?

I really don’t wanna comment used phones, no one knows. Of course if I have to say something then a newer phone (by age) is better.

QUOTE(Rainings @ May 30 2022, 10:46 AM)
Looking to jump ship to iOS as an android for more than 10 yrs coming from Poco F1.

I'm eyeing mini right now. Watched tones of review by comparing with 13 mini and similar price range android phone like Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE. I think I will settle with 12 mini.

Senheng currently selling 12 mini at 2399 for base model and 13 mini at 3099. I checked out the real device side by side, really couldn't tell the difference. By looking at the 2 only the notch size slightly different. Really love the one hand control, just like my old Redmi note 2 with 5.5" screen. Comparing 12 mini and 13 mini, with the price gap of RM700, I really cannot pick 13 mini.

Before anyone mentioning only the 64G storage on 12 mini, base on my usage from my current poco F1 64G, I still have 30G left. I think the 12 mini base model is enuff for my usage.

So, what do you guys think about the pricing? Is it a good buy now, or should I wait for 6.6 to see if there is any additonal promo? hmm.gif

Edit: I check with others user, looks like everyone recommend 13mini instead of 12 mini. Will need to think about it.

Don't underestimate IOS app size compared to Android. Some stupid basic apps can run up to 300mb.
I am now about 90GB used up, with about 20GB of photos and videos.....and I consider myself a "light user" ie I dont game or do heavy stuff on the phone...

Example : Any banking apps will be 300-500MB and if you have 4-5 then its like bye bye a few gigs. Now that I look at my own app list, as long as some form of login is required the app is 200MB to 500MB.

But you are always able to buy icloud for 50GB or even more (just beware when it fills up you have to manually download or clear it too).

I am eyeing another 12 for my wife perhaps for her I will be a scrooge and stay with 64GB haha.

Yes, I also see many ppl talks about battery life is significant better. But how significant actually? Most of the report I see is like around 1 and half hour more than 12 mini.
Some even talks about 12 mini battery life is faulty.
200-500mb+ for just a banking APPS?! WTF The size is like 6x more than android apps!
I have few cloud storage like Gdrive, Box, Drop box ..
Usually I will opt for cross-platform apps, let say in the future if I want to switch back to android, it will be alot easier.
A bit danger if just trap into one eco system.  tongue.gif
Thx for the heads up, I definitely will take this into consideration. Maybe just bite the bullet, get 13 mini instead.
*
IOS is a closed platform....Gdrive can't do whatsapp backup in IOS, only Icloud can backup whatsapp as of now. Among many other frivolous and non-sensical things that Apple do for you. I heard it will not be long before whatsapp can cross migrate easily but as of today still difficult... the idea is to make your life difficult to migrate back.

anyway, its usually the power users of android that suffer the most when seeing the closed walls of IOS.

so in all, I'd rather have a 128gb 12 mini than a 64gb 13 mini for the same price.
