I have 2 family group chats, I deleted the rest of it when I got the new phone. U suspect group chats is the culprit of background activity ?[2020]iPhone 12/12 Mini Discussion Thread | V1, Blast past fast.

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 20 2021, 12:23 PM) It was for me. Try restarting the phone and using DND (Do Not Disturb) mode just before you go to bed and see if it improves. Ok i'll try restarting the phone, as for DND it's scheduled 12AM to 9AM, but DND doesn't have any affect on the phone's battery though, in fact it should be saving battery than draining it. |

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 20 2021, 02:07 PM) It suspends the notifications so that helps a bit but not much I guess. I charge my phone every night before I sleep, plug it out at 11.30pm or 12.00am every night at 100% then go to bed with DND on and it’s usually at 99% or 100% the next morning when my alarm goes off at 7.00am. Ya thats wat it does, as in won't let the screen light up. I never charge to 100 before tho as they say always charging it to 100 will harm battery in the long run. Always until 80-85%, i kind of notice if i charge it until 85%, next day wake up 84%, drop only 1%, if anything below 80, it'll drop 2-3%. |

QUOTE(louis198920 @ Jan 27 2021, 02:02 PM) if you're not coming from the previous version, your device will download the full update file in order to perform the update. Otherwise, if you are coming from previous version (in this case, 14.3), then you will only need to download the differential update file, which is significantly smaller in size. Yup i noted that, those who had 4-5gb file size are those who didn't update and skipped quite a few until 14.4. I heard after every iOS update, battery percentage would go down faster for some period of time due to files / background index running etc ? |

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 28 2021, 07:59 PM) Updated mine last night. So far no difference from 14.3 so it’s good. Didn’t notice any strange battery drain as well. So far so good for me, not much difference that I notice as well, but it's as good as before. Btw bro, not sure if u happen to know this but isit possible for dust or lint to actually get inside a screen protector ? I seem to notice some kind of lint or might be just a scratch but doesn't seem so, is like inside the screen protector, very very tiny bit, so just wondering. |

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 29 2021, 03:42 PM) Hey bro"While the YouTuber has not tested the battery life of the iPhone 12 in the drain test, the video does make it clear that all iPhones should see a noticeable jump in their battery life after the iOS 14.4 update. The improvement might not be immediately visible since iPhones can take a few days to settle down after installing an iOS update." I also saw similar post somewhere that after every iOS update, it'll take several days for the phone to do all the stuff and only then batt will be back to normal. As in, battery will drain slightly faster few days after updates. Is this true ? |

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 30 2021, 10:36 AM) Have not noticed any difference yet on my unit but then again it’s only been a couple of days. Anyways hard to really feel the difference during the MCO and WFH everyday hahaha... For me I noticed my battery drain seems to be slightly faster than before, not sure if it's really because of the iOS update, then the phone needs days to settle down everything. ijuanp03 liked this post

QUOTE(Lynixx @ Jan 30 2021, 12:59 PM) He’s not worry, he is realised there’s an issue on his phone and trying to get advice from others. I don’t see any problem here. It's not the first time his being a troll and totally useless in this section, so no surprises there. Not sure what's wrong with him, maybe his just pissed off with himself in life or just having a huge ego.Anyway, every questions/concerns are always welcomed in this forum. |

QUOTE(incredibless @ Jun 4 2021, 08:49 PM) How is everyone's battery health? Using the IP12 since Dec'20 [5.5months], today caught my surprised that the battery health drop to 99%. My usage is very minimal, only social media and light camera usage. Using 5w charger and dont let it drop below 40-50%. Whereelse my brother bought around the same time still 100% with usage of 20W fast charger and until 15-20% left. Maybe faulty battery or must be something to do with ur usage no matter how minimal. I bought 25 dec last year too, still 100%. My IP6 that Ive been using for 6-7 years without taking care, the battery % on that phone is still at 87, which is really really good considering everything. |

Does shutting down iPhone completely once in a long while ( maybe once every few weeks or months ) really do improve the general performance / animation / apps start up speed etc ? Or it's just a myth and a gimmick that doesn't work ?
