QUOTE(Redundant @ Jan 5 2021, 04:52 PM) I'm one that pampers the phone too, and since I stayed home most of the time during CMCO, it's seldom in my pocket as well... Just went out these 2 days to the office and noticed the shinny part this morning already Bought the case from Machines and the 12 Pro forum mentioned that reseller seldom layan warranty claims for cases Hahahah just gotta be even more careful then, because rubbing against silicone is understandable going to affect the material. I thought there's no case warranty ? I also bought from machines, i went to the store, they say for cases no warranty leh

Regarding Face ID, read somewhere / youtube videos that says the more / longer u use Face ID, it actually learns to recognize ur face even more over time as u use and will become faster / more efficient, as it's learning to remember ur face etc as u use it more often, is this true ?

QUOTE(Redundant @ Jan 5 2021, 06:14 PM) Better to share a picture here... so that you guys can take note how to better care for the case and don't repeat my same mistake bro how often u actually put in and out and "rub" the phone case ? If quite often, given the situation of ur current case, i think its really quite decent in terms of quality, if its other silicone case, probably even peel off already.

Wan to do a small survey here, for anyone who's NOT charging their phone overnight, with ur IP12 connected to house WIFI AND Data and in idle, how much battery percentage drop do u see from overnight ( night to morning ) when u wake up ? 3-5 % ?
Just want to know the average to see if it's normal and supposed to be like that.

QUOTE(takenaga @ Jan 9 2021, 09:39 AM) honestly, that shocked me too bro it's rarely happen btw. say, in a week, 5 days 3%, 2 days 0%. this is since 14.3 update. i didn't do anything like clearing recent apps etc. usually when i back home from work, charge my phone until 100% (around 10pm - 12am), pull the charging cable, then go to sleep. waahh so weird, but normally in general it's suppose to AT LEAST drain 3-4% when in idle during overnight right ?

QUOTE(mycolumn @ Jan 9 2021, 03:42 PM) Mine won’t drop any % if my phone is on airplane mode. If wifi and mobile data on, then will drop 3% per night No wonder, I think i know why u won't drop any %, and remains 0%, because u on airplane mode, that's probably why. At night, if i leave it idle overnight, with just normal idle + wifi connected, it'll drain 3-4%, at first i thought it's my battery faulty, then i realize its suppose to be like that it'll still drain some battery during idle

QUOTE(takenaga @ Jan 9 2021, 08:42 PM) after reading mycolumn's reply: now i remember, i set a bedtime on my phone, which starts at 10:30pm and ends at 6:00am. during this period of time, all notifications will be silenced, and do not turn up my phone's screen when there's notification. I guess this is the reason why on some days there's no drain. Yeah i think because the screen display wont be turn on, it really makes a difference, but also, even without those bedtime settings, laying phone screen face down also works the same as in the screen display won't light up ?

QUOTE(takenaga @ Jan 9 2021, 09:05 PM) i guess. you can try it tonight Yeah i'll try it tonight, not that it's an issue but just wanna know if everyone is the same hahaha. By the way, talking about battery, i googled and actually found out alot of ppl having battery draining fast issue, luckily i think im not one of them, but those using iphone 12, do ur battery drop 2-3% in a duration of 10 minutes ? isit normal ? My activity during those 10 minutes is just text messaging. This post has been edited by Sotsotzaii: Jan 9 2021, 09:40 PM

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 10 2021, 11:39 AM) 0% drain usually happens after the phone is fully charged to 100% but it’s a little artificial, mostly software related. 3-5% drain would be normal. Bear in mind the iPhone 12’s battery capacity is not even 3000mAh which is laughable in 2020/2021 but that’s the way Apple rolls. Ohh, I never charge my phone to 100% since i got it, I always go with 40-80%. I didn't know 3000mAh is laughable hahaha, ok well noted !

Got a question, was looking at the front camera / sensors / microphone etc, those that are on the center front, are those including the cameras etc actually built INSIDE the screen ? Like it's not exposed like the back camera is ?
Meaning we can't touch / scratch it ?

QUOTE(ijuanp03 @ Jan 12 2021, 01:41 AM) I would be happy to answer you. Yes, it's under the front glass. We can't touch it but the glass can get scratched. I'm just curious. What was your phone prior the iPhone 12? I'm asking this because 99.9% of smartphone front cameras are under the GLASS. Like basically all phones?! And spoiler alert, all smartphone rear cameras are also under a glass. Else, you will be touching the camera module. I was using Xperia before this. I think a few misunderstood what I'm trying to say. If we look at the back camera on our phones, the camera is "exposed", exposed in a way u can actually touch / scratch the lenses of the camera, it's there right out in the open, just protected by the rings around it. But for the front camera / sensors ( for iPhones ) etc, it's like u said, UNDER / INSIDE the glass, so that's what I'm trying to know, if it's exposed or not, if it's under the glass, means it's not exposed like the back cameras is.

QUOTE(Marcus95 @ Jan 12 2021, 08:35 PM) Only thing stopping the camera lense exposure is the Sapphire glass that you are able to touch. Is that what you meant? Yes, the sapphire glass, that's what I meant, the back camera have the sapphire glass over it, but the front camera doesn't, it's actually under / inside the screen glass, is it so ?

QUOTE(ijuanp03 @ Jan 12 2021, 11:29 PM) Again, ALL cameras, be it the front or back, is covered by some form of glass. Regardless if it is sapphire or not. To make it simpler, imagine the whole FRONT DISPLAY is covered with sapphire glass. All parts (camera, screen display, sensors) are UNDER the sapphire glass. Do you think the screen isn't protected of anything? The screen itself has layers and layers of protective sheet. You're not touching the screen itself but the GLASS on top of it. The same concept is done at the BACK camera. On top of the camera module IS a glass, regardless if it's made of sapphire or not. An exposed camera module looks like this. Notice how the camera lens at the center is an "orb" and not flat? Because it's not covered with anything. You put a sheet of glass (sapphire, gorilla glass, you name it) on top to protect it. If you've ever seen a phone without some kind of cover and you can physically touch the camera sensor then by all means, let us know. Yeah with ur elaboration I get a clearer picture, I misuse the word exposed, after all everything is covered with a glass, just that the back camera's glass surface is only around the camera. Anyway, another question, does iPhone 11 pro's wallpaper match with iPhone 12 ?

QUOTE(mycolumn @ Jan 18 2021, 09:06 PM) Nopes. DND mode is activated every night. Battery drain around 3% per night from 11pm to 7am. Weird, probably just coincidence but my batt drain 8-10% suddenly for 2 nights in a row with DND activated, and before and after is the same usual, only difference is DND on, look at battery usage also seems normal.

QUOTE(attw @ Jan 20 2021, 11:16 AM) Haha, I’m surprised you’re still having this issue. My auto update is on and I’ve not experienced any of the battery drain you have even after close to two months using my iPhone 12 now Yeah but from time to time, for the past few days yes, then I checked my battery usage and found out that Whatsapp's background activity is running at 1.5 hours on the background, no idea why, I believe that's the culprit but not sure why is it running so high on the background when I didn't even open it for the day.
