Hi all, reporting in with 12 mini (green) 256gb that I got last Saturday.

Since a lot of you asked about battery life, here’s the screenshot:

Off from charger at around 5.30AM

Still left with 40ish% by 9pm

Thanks for the feedback bro. Those are pretty good numbers for a phone that small!! smile.gif

Starting with iPhone 12, there is no longer “MY” set, except for telco ones. So, if you buy it from Machines or Switch, it will be ZP set and it’s legit. Just show them the receipt if they insist otherwise.
*
Actually my 12 Pro Max also shows ZP, and I got it from maxis.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on these battery drain tests videos.. it's obvious that the bigger the battery, the longer it will last on a test like this. What's probably more crucial is if the phone has sufficient battery to power you through a day without the need for a recharge or looking for a power bank halfway based on your usage patterns.

Ya bigger battery will won if it’s the same size screen... iPhone 12 pro max lose to 11 pro max cuz bigger screen and lower battery despite a14 help a little bit to save battery
*
Yeah, exactly. I'm into my third day now with the 12 Pro Max, so far the usage more or less matches my experience with the 11 Pro Max as far as battery life is concerned albeit a smaller battery. Then again, the testing parameters are all screwed up now in the era of work from home and using WiFi only laugh.gif

Suitable to be a company phone that just making phone call, text messaging and a bit of searching.

Ya, agree. I think based on moderate usage, 4-5 hours SOT probably can last whole day smile.gif

All youtuber same result iPhone battery life but phonearena and gsmarena show completely difference... their test like not very accurate
*
Testing method is different. In all these Youtube videos, it's based on usage and standby time is not taken into consideration. Anyways, there are caveats with every other testing method, of course and they can only be used as points of reference. As I said previously, as long as it suits your usage then it's fine.

12 should have stocks right? Just the Pro or Pro Max that's a bit hard to get. Looking for a specific colour and storage?

So which one do get bro? 12 Mini or 12? To all mini user how the experience so far?
*
Depends on your usage. If you are a heavy user (6 hours screen time or more in a day) then probably make sense to go for iPhone 12 instead of 12 Mini.

Thank you. Was surprised to know about the poor tech & design in iphone 11. I guess apple has fixed it in iphone 12

Coz Samsung S20 FE 5G is a fine phone too, don't you think?
Good to hear that. Happy iphone user spotted, haha.

Have you tried the ios14, widgets and taptic engine features?
*
It’s not just a design issue, but previously Apple used Intel modems that are generally acknowledged to be inferior to Qualcomm ones. iPhone 12 now uses Qualcomm modems across board so that’s good.

S20FE is good but I’m not a fan of paying above RM3k for a phone with a plastic body. I noticed a few good deals for below RM3k now so maybe that’s a good deal. I can definitely vouch for Samsung phones using SD processors instead of Exynos ones. The choice is yours, of course smile.gif

Yeah, so far so good on iOS 14 with them widgets and all, but I expect it to get better over time. Not that many third party widgets yet compared to Android.

Hi any early adopters who bought singapore stocks? Can help check if there is malaysia address written at the back of the box? The menara CIMB address
*
Yes, there is. Mine is a maxis set.

Widgets drain the battery, even on iphone and i had bad experience with them back in android in 2013. Seldom use them now but iPhone seem to implement widgets well.
*
Yeah, I like having the widget stacks. It’s nice!

There was a report on some iPhones having flickering and green tint screens recently. Hopefully they’ll address that soon. My unit is problem free so far, thankfully!

https://www.macrumors.com/2020/11/18/apple-...display-issues/

Apple is investigating the iPhone 12 flickering and display issues.

It needs to be in certain conditions then it’ll appear on my ip12. Complete darkness and playing a complete black screen video on YouTube. Brightness level at 50-20 percent. Once I turn on the lights, I don’t notice it at all.
*
Hmm, let me try to simulate those conditions later laugh.gif

People complaint the phone experience heating at the back of the body.
*
Due to the size it does tend to get warmer under heavy loads compared to the 12, 12 Pro or Pro Max. I guess the Mini might not be meant for users who demand that kind of performance especially gamers, etc. Besides, the battery life of the Mini may not suffice for that kind of usage anyway.

Finally finished up transferring and setting up the phone. Pretty satisfied for now.

Just need to get used to the slightly muted colours and smaller screen.

Hmm, so so.

Not too slippery I guess, but I wouldn't call it grippy.

But it's far more grippier than the plasma cases which I find it to be a slip fest especially on my n10.
*
Ya, wife said the plasma is a bit too slippery for her liking. Considering to get her this or the Pathfinder.
