Can someone enlighten me about this private/public ip issue?
I have been using Maxis Fibre for years now, I remember last time I requested for public ip and they approved it. From the conversation in this thread, Digi will never give public ip.
Why would this be an issue? Surely if you have high-end router you can use free dynamic dns service such as dyndns or noip so that you can access your home network from outside instead of connecting via ip??
Am I missing something here? I am thinking of migrating to Digi since they offer 50Mbps (Maxis offers 30Mbps only for my condo). But this public ip issue is causing me to pause.
I don't have CCTV. I just want to RDP home to access my home desktop, I have been doing this for years under Maxis Fibre. Are you guys saying if I migrate to Digi I can no longer connect to home network from outside? Even after I set up dynamic DNS using noip.com?
