Hi, to you guys on digi fibre, i have a question. Do most of you use the zyxel router provided, or use own router? And if you're using own router, can recommend a good one? Those that can be left on 365/24-7 without overheating.

Is the wifi reception good throughout the house with just that router? i live in a single storey landed (but old landed property so house is kinda longish compared to modern houses) i been using i150 for past 5 yrs or so on an archer mr200 router, first coupled with a tp-link extender and currently using tenda mw3 so that there's signal if I'm at the living room (the router is all the way at the back of the house because that's the only spot where i can get strong 4g signal)

the installer guy is coming next tuesday to install the fibre, but if the router they give suck, i want to go and buy one first this weekend.

Zyxel router won't give you as good coverage as compared to mesh wifi router.  You can probably use you MW3 provided if the following are met :
1) supports digi VLAN or manual VLAN setting.
2) If your package is only 100Mbps or below since the Port only supports Fast Ethernet connection

If you are on a tight budget i would recommend for TP-Link Archer Wifi 6 (e.g AX10) or Asus Wifi 6 (e.g RT-AX55) router as a start with mesh capability in case you need to expand your coverage later. I know both brand supports digi VLANs

Thank you for replying. I signed up for the DF150 (300mbps) package. AFAIK tenda mw3 only suitable for up to 100mbps, if i need mesh extender, i'll need to buy mw6. my budget is around 500-600rm. Around 700rm also okay. As long as it works well. Thnx

If that's the case, you can probably consider TP-link Archer AX55/Ax72/AX73 + 1xTP-link RE605/RE505X OneMesh repeater or 2 x Asus RT-AX55.  I cannot comment on other brands though since i found other brands not stable enough or not feature rich.

Thanks, i'll check them these routers out. Appreciate the help. I got cats and last time i was using tp-link extender, my very itchy hands cat broke the antenna rendering it useless. midway point of my house where the extender needs to be, the power points are all near the floor. Changing to tenda was a good choice cause it is square cubes, they can't do anything to it.
