So i noticed that my prepaid number is no longer in service since yesterday. The number was previously mnp from hotlink and originally from celcom xpax (013)
I mnp to maxis and used for 8-9 years and last year i port to unifi for its never expiring credit and validity.

I have a main number which is a postpaid and actively using right now. Just that i wanna preserve my old number that been following me since 13 years ago.

I have contacted unifi mobile live chat and they said that my number is terminated due to failure to perform ocr verification. This makes me super curious as this never happened to me before when I was using maxis nor celcom. And i passed my ic and identity verifications during my mnp process into unifi mobile service.

The agent told that this is under the order of mcmc to terminate those unverified numbers.

They said they have sent numerous notifications but I did not receive even 1. And to my surprise they did not even send a single warning to my registered email before terminating my number.
They terminate my number as if no one is currently using the number and like this number belongs to them.

I then requested to reactivate my number but they said cannot reactivate a terminated number.

I've checked with mcmc mnp query system and seems that the number is still undet tm.

I also went to celcom to check whether the number already returned to them. To no avail they didn't have that number in system. I can be very sure that the number is still with tm.

Anyone knows what happened to a terminated mnp number? Will it return to the original telco number pool?

Yes, the number will returned to original telco number pool.

I believe you might not plug your SIM card to a phone to receive SMS right?
My friend faced the same issue with you.
Actually unifi did send SMS to notice him but he keep forgot.

For myself,
I have the similar case with you.
My number was MNP to unifi and my SIM is collected at TMPoint with my IC verified.
But when I login to unifi app
I can see unifi still asking me to perform OCR verification.

I believe you have the same case with me that the operator didn't verify well our IC which required us to do the second time on the app.

Got the same issue, and the guy over twitter is a lot more responsive than live chat and others.

Also made complain to MCMC, and at the end they allow me to keep the same number, but needed to get a new sim card without random number then they update the new sim with the existing number.

Paid RM20.60 for it, SIM + Delivery

I see. But i did the mnp via tm online. If they request for 2nd verification this is their fault already. They can't simply terminate like that.

It's not about the line active or not
It's about if your number have OCR verified.
Open your mobile@unifi app,
then at the left menu,
click "Verify My Profile", you are safe if you saw "OCR Completed".
If not, grab your IC and take a snot now

Case closed.

After numerous chats with tm twitter and report to skmm, twitter live chat agreed to open a case for me and passed it to second level.

A few days later, i chatted back with tm twitter and they said that my request is successful and i need to go to tm point asap to prevent my number from being recycled back to the original telco. And they ask me when and which branch that i wanted to go and they will pass my case to that branch for my number reactivation.

So i went to tm point today and a kind hearted tm point staff ms suhaini n encik azam assisted me through the whole process. And now I've got my sim and activated already.

If there is any TM employer here, I would like to praise your kind heartedkuantan branch staff ms suhaini and encik azam. They assisted me professionally and eased the whole process. Thank you
