Can I ask if you get the saman issued on the spot, or wait for it to be mail to house address? I was pulled over during road block saying I was playing my phone, ask me to wait to go mahkamah when they return my IC and license. But never give me any photo or saman. I check online in Mybayar saman but nothing yet. How did it works for you guys? Wait for the saman to be send to your house, and does it come with evidence?

No I didnt get anything. It was during a roadblock then they pull me aside to wait for another officer to ask me...apa salah? Of course I replied tak tau coz obviously I wasn't playing on my phone during the block. I suspect I was looking at my phone at the traffic light when police was hiding at the corner capturing images. As soon as I turn into the main road there it goes the road block and the officer stop me during my turn to go. After pulling aside another officer came ask me, i said I dont know what my offence is, then ask through walkie talkie and told me I use my phone. Collected my IC and license waited for another 15mins for another officer to say tunggu saman, pergi court mahkamah in PJ then return my IC and let me go. None of them issue me anything, and I am waiting anxiously everyday checkinng in MyBayar online. Should there be ticket issued to me instantly on the spot...should right?

Hmm... quite funny hor... they didn't ask you to "setel", but also didn't give you paper saman ...

I think they did, in a subtle way coz they keep repeating use phone need to go court in PJ, for a few times. I act dumb saying ok, ask for picture coz I need to have clear images if I indeed was looking at my phone at the lights. Definitely did not talk on the phone while the other hand on steering. Waited for a long time, different officer came and just tell me to wait for mahkamah to call, no one give me handwritten or print saman at all. Can I assume I escape arr?

Usually its issued on the spot. You will get a summon notice, or a summons letter directly from them on the spot. As far as I know they didnt mail any to me. It was handed to me on the spot from the police officer who stopped me and gave me the summon. If nothing then i think no need to worry. Because it will usually appear within 2-3 days if im not mistaken. I was also pulled over recently because i was carrying work materials and with a worker in my car. The officer asked me what I wanted to do, I said since I am in the wrong please issue me a summon. He said the summon need to go court in 2 months time, I said okay. Then after awhile he said, its okay, I give you a warning, the next time I see you like this I will issue a summon to court. I thanked him for not issuing me a summon and left. I occasionally check my MyBayar app, so far no notices. Usually they will say they give you warning and let you go. Unless its playing with phone then I think they will either ask coffee money, let u go or give u summon on the spot. IMO la.. Very risky to give coffee money because some of them could be testing you also. If you give then they will charge u higher in court for bribing of police officer. Best is dont bribe and get the summon, unless they let you go.

Similar thing happened to me yesterday, got caught for using phone, the police told me will issue saman after taking license, but did not issue any compound on the spot. Now i’m notnsure if i got saman or not..

Attend the court and plead for leniency. Normal <RM300 for 1st time.

If you get saman for using phone while driving and police say must attend mahkamah, you don’t have to. You can now pay it as a rm300 compound. I just did this last month.

You have to wait a few days, then the offense will show up in mybayar app. You can pay it in the app or go to traffic counter police station to get a hard copy receipt.
