(Each clashing player reveals the top card of his or her library, then puts that card on the top or bottom. A player wins if his or her card had a HIGHER converted mana cost.)

which part of HIGHER does he not understand? haha.....

I know what you mean. I've had experience 2 games where I clearly knew my ruling but need judge to point it out to my opponent. Obviously, Mike gave a wrong ruling that cost me both of the games.

I forgot which rule already but one of them is when TSP block just went legal & apparently my opponent can respond to me suspend Gargadon, which cost me the game as my opponent manage to tendrils my creature, gaining back the life... thanks mike vmad.gif

On a side note, there was once where I was playing with Sam in a PTQ. After he presented his deck, I did a single cut, then Sam did another cut to the deck. I called the judge (Mike) explaining he can't cut his deck unless I did anything more than a single cut to his deck. Mike say can... nothing serious but just to let you all know since this ruling was given in a PTQ. Thank god I won that game....

Unless I am wrong, yout pponent CAN respond to you suspending a Gargadon.

You are right about the cutting thing.

rare drafting in casual is ok if the 'prize distribution' says so. rare drafting 1 or 2 money rares when the card pool is shallow is ok too. but drafting every single rare during a tournament is cheap-skate move!!! i hope i state it in a balance way. i do not persecute players who casual rare draft and keep 1 later. i myself also draft in formats where the rare is distributed.

i only want to point out that heading into a draft where you have a 'chance' to win it for a PT slot with single minded wanting to rare draft thus screwing your own chance and other ppl draft is not ok in my books.

i never metagame. just play the best and the odds will fall back to you. that's what i believe. any changes, no matter how insignificant it seems to you might actually make it worse. ahahah.... that's why there are pros and i am not.......

bus will be around 4.5-5 hours........drive i doubt can reach in 2 hours. 200km KL-Ipoh, 160km Ipoh-Penang. And that is tollbooth to tollbooth. Not yet including your journey from house out to highway. You have to average 180km/h. Hahah...

i gotta say this....the Kuching venue rocks!!! It's in the lobby of a shopping mall, so plenty of spectators including chicks. The organiser provides mineral water for all. It's next to the food court (I mean really next to it). Attached Image This is the only 6 rounds PTQ I attended with lunchbreak. I think if you are hungry, you can eat and play at the same time. smile.gif Check out the tables dude!!!Attached Image I never use the 'zones' though. Hahah

Because the place is in the lobby, during top8 draft, some stupid idiot decided to throw a ciggarete down from the upper floors. Hahaha... lucky i was not sitting near the balcony.
All in all the PTQ is 7/10. It's only because of the way they run the tournament. A bit of mistakes here and there but I am sure will get better. smile.gif For instance, I hope that no more video will be running during matches as the noise is a bit distracting. Maybe it's just me.

I stayed a friend's place so I don't have to fork out accomadation expenses. But if I got there next time, I will definately try to spend a couple more days there to see the sights.

You should be running the overnight draft on saturday night  biggrin.gif  so that they can practice before next day's PTQ top 8
*
or if you don't make top8, you can bottom8 or middle8 draft. smile.gif

Can't believe Mun Yip made me fight him on Sunday in Round 6 of the PTQ sad.gif  Terrible!  So much stress... some more, whack Sam and me for ID-ing in Round 3  smile.gif
*
All in my grand plan of winning you in the QF. First I stress you. Then make you happy you won. Then make you sad coz I also Top 8. In QF 'purposely' make noob mistake to let you win Game 1. Lower you guard. Then pawn you Game 2 and 3 with identical cards. flex.gif Lolz.

And all the merfolk decks with Summon the School and Drowner of Secrets were sitting at the bottom table. INCLUDING MY STUPID DROWNER OF SECRETS AND SUMMON THE SCHOOL!  mad.gif

Sigh....

I should've built U/G, dumped the Summon the School, and splashed 5 black & white removal spells.  Maybe I would've stood a better chance.
*
Correction: I made top 8 with my Merfolks + Summon the School + Drowner of Secrets deck. biggrin.gif

Only thing is that I never mill anyone to death. Lolz
