I like The Vox better then the Cube, because of the Valve....... sure... it's not a true power amp valve, but still hits that sweet spot in the crunch overdrives. Pair it with an OD like the ZW-44 (More Zakk/Jim Dunlop plugging), Boss SD-1 or Digitech's Bad Monkey and it's good enough for hard rock stuff.

hmm?
i tihnk the ad-series can cut it for metal lo

on the rectifier model, i set gain less than half, and with the overdrive at 2 o'clock its pretty much over the top distortion for me alr =/

hey mate ..if you are getting a practice amp..modeling amp ..VOX AD , Cube..sounds fine

but for a gigging amp , i wouldn't get a modeling amp

i will go for something transparent ..

you can try Laney LV100 ...or Tube fusion series..if you can find any

going for a peavey bandit sounds good too

Oh really?? I'm not quite familiar with the Peavey or the Laney, and i'm not sure where I can get those amps sweat.gif

I've heard so many good things bout the VOX and I'm currently streaming audio clips of some VOX from UG and man! They sound good! drool.gif

And btw,i've been wondering for quite a while, how different is the sound between a hybrid amp and an all-tube amp??

Hahah if u can afford the tube amps then good, but if u can't,then sweat.gif

Btw,should i get the new AD50Vt2-XL instead of the standard AD50VT?? Are the new XL series more suited to metal players since it's high-gain??

Gimmick or not the Vox's classic amp models sound warmer than Line 6 and Roland amps. biggrin.gif To my ears, anyway.

What time were you in CK music?
I was at JS music at around 12, picking up my dad's congas......

Decided to buy him a set of Toca Sheila E.'s signature congas
