Just got back from Harvey Norman @ Pavilion. Was quoted RM2589 for the SR605, RM3299 for the SR705 and RM4xxx for the SR805/875. Can't remember the exact price. They also have the Yamaha RX-V1800 at RM41xx and the RX-V3800 at over RM5000 hmm.gif

The receivers are connected to some decent speakers. Might bring over some CDs and DVDs during my next visit laugh.gif

Now I understood whats the hype about. I bought my Yammy RXV-1800 for RM3600. Kindly note that Yamaha has Burr Bown DAC. I believe TX-SR805 upwards has them.

So, what is the hype all about?

Just came back from window shopping at Desa Home Theater in Kepong and Acoustique Systems in Amcorp Mall. At Amcorp Mall I was quoted RM37xx for the Onkyo TX-SR705 and RM3690 for the Yamaha RX-V1800. At Desa I was quoted RM4000 for the RX-V1800 but as I was walking away, I was offered a "today only" price of RM3800 laugh.gif

Just for info...
Anyway, its my whole personal feel on this.

I tested the Onkyo 605 and as well as Denon 2307
I think the Denon is clearer in term of the sound produced. You feel more relaxed and not so cramped. The Okyo sound produced a bit messy.

Anyway, the above tested on Mourdaunt Short speakers in 1 U, Hifi Shop.
Also, tested Pro-Line or something speaker in CMY. Too noisy... too sharp... too irritating... somore more expensive.

Price aside. CMY was promoting me the Harman Kardon amp. Accoding to him, it is bigger in amp output. Heck!!!...

But in term of outlook design, Onkyo looks best especially the black color one.

How much is Denon 2307?

I agree. The Onkyo 605 looks better but then in terms of performance... Denon better.
