Affin rejected my application for their duo card today.. Lol. So unexpected..
I don't owe banks or credit cards, I have existing cards, and my salary is way above the minimum, only have car loan very low commitment..
What could be the possible issue ah?
Not sure what issue the bank has seen.
My experience is:
Years ago I got rejected because I had high owings in balance transfers and cash-on-call from various banks, at that time was maximising all my card limits.
For Affin Bank, they compare monthly income against a certain percentage of total bank owings of cards, loans, overdrafts etc. as reported in the CCRIS of the last month end. That is to check our income/commitment percentage. Below a specific %, application will be rejected.
I was told to reduce my card owings which I did over the next 2 - 3 months instead of rolling over in BTs. Over the period I reduced my owing by RM50k.
After that I reapplied and this time got it approved.
