no such thing as cooling system. All ps2 dont have intercooling fan or chip. They try to cheat u. Just use that rm30 usb fan n u will be fine.

I'm not sure where you can go, but what you can BEST do first is to ask the shop to just CHECK FOR YOU what exactly is wrong with the ps2.
Don't ask them to FIX it yet.Just check!
And the cost depends on the problem obviously.Could be the lens, could be the mod chip?
The lens problem would obviously be the most expensive ( I think! ) whereas to replace a mod chip would be rm120-150+?
But you need to know the PROBLEM first, so get it checked before anything.

Went to Giant Plentong today and saw that a new PS2 set goes out for RM4XX. Not sure what is included though but I think it should be the usual stuff.

PS2 prices vary from place to place really. so even if someone says a price here, it might change by the time someone else goes out to buy it.
so the best bet is to scout around and ask for the best prices

I went to Sunway Pyramid that day to look around for a good shop selling PS2 for a good price.I went to the highest floor and there got 3 shops selling PS2 stuff.

1st one is Genius Game Shop,2nd one is Mega Man Enterprise and 3rd one is BLK.

I like the BLK shop because the chinese guy wearing specs there very friendly and explain a lot in case we don't know anything.He quoted me RM590 for the PS2 not including 8MB memory card,fully-modified PS2,2 local controllers(can be upgraded to ori but costs some money),1 year warranty, and 10 free games.I forgot to ask about the fan lol.So is this a good offer?

Mega Man quoted me RM580,not including memory card also and also 10 free games but not so nice.He was tending to other customers so like din bother me at all and Genius Shop may be totally out,because one girl there very stupid.Don't know how to talk properly!!

This Thursday I may buy from BLK and I need some help whether this is a good offer or not and also I need some tips on how to differentiate between ori and local controllers and whether the PS2 itself is recon or not.

In Prangin Mall 4th Floor (The floor below Popular), there is this console shop beside the Home Recipe and some coffee shop. The boss quote me as below:

1 modded black PS2 (Slim), 2 controllers (1 original 1 non-original), 1 memory card, 20 *ahem* games (10 choose by yourself and 10 they picked for you) for RM600.

There is another shop I haven't ask in Prangin too. Its this small shop on first floor but with a lot of stuffs.

Please don't ever, ever go to stupid M*R*O or G*M* M*S**S. The shop-keep main job there is to sit and do nothing and tick customer off.

your case:
no controller -RM35 (local)

599 - 130 = 469... i think it is reasonable... for only buying the console...
(yeah i left out the ORI controller price, so most probably you've been conned 1 ORI controller i think)

is that mean if i get a new ps2 with the latest version and mod chip (no idea whats that lol) then it shouldn't have any problem playing ori, pirated cd for ps1 or 2 ??

not quite sure coz sometimes there are certain issues like the cd or consoles are region lock or something..and if i'm not mistaken different version require different ways of opening ps1 games..try asking some sifu...sorry can't help much..the safest way is always to test the item first with the dealer..ask him if it can play does cds/dvds..

so is it fake that the ps2 price will become USD99.90??
