3rd attempt with winxp pro (no service pack) ![]() Added on July 9, 2008, 2:19 pm QUOTE(SubKi||er @ Jul 9 2008, 01:46 PM) CD problem perhaps? Desktop rarely use SCSI so it doesn't really make sense for it to hang there...Unless of course having said that, you are using a desktop with SCSI drives... dunno what drive it is...but this is the original instruction from the compaq THIS IS A GUIDE FOR INSTALLING WINDOWS XP FOR MOBILE 965 CHIPSET BASED NOTEBOOK. CODE PREPARERATION: EXTERNAL USB FLOPPY DRIVE AND A EMPTY FLOPPY DISK. COPY ALL THE FILES IN "IASTORAGE" FOLDER PROVIDED TO THE FLOPPY DISK. 1. MAKE SURE USB FLOPPY IS CONNECTED AND INSTALLATION DISC IS INSIDE THE DVD-DRIVE. 2. BOOT UP, WAIT FOR CD-BOOT, PRESS ANY KEY TO ENTER WINDOWS SETUP, WAIT FOR BLUE SCREEN. 3. PRESS F6 KEY UPON SEEING BLUE SCREEN AND THE MESSAGE OF " PRESS F6 IF NEED TO INSTALL 3RD PARTY SCSI DRIVER ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN. 4. WAIT FOR OPTION OF WHICH DRIVER TO INSTALL, THE CORRECT DRIVER IS NAMED "INTELĀ® 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI CONTROLLER (MOBILE ICH8M-E/M)" 5. AFTER WINDOWS INSTALLATION LOADED THE REMAINING DRIVER, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR HARDDISK NOW. any idea? This post has been edited by daruma: Jul 9 2008, 02:19 PM |

QUOTE(SubKi||er @ Jul 9 2008, 04:19 PM) Without service pack and it would be too old so it would crash cause driver problems. Especially newer hardware... i don't have floppy drive. That method have nothing wrong, but its for my 2nd method. The floppy drive load part and if you notice its almost the same. Which one are you using anyway? so i just follow your instruction to create the boot CD.... i tried on winxp (no sp), winxp (sp1), winxp (sp2) but all hang and different errors.. |
