Load the SATA/RAID drivers from floppy

For those who have access to USB floppy drives, here's the step how you want to get XP Setup to detect your SATA harddrive.[list=1]
[*] Attach USB floppy disc
[*] Copy SATA/RAID drivers to floppy
[*] Reboot and boot from XP Setup disc
[*] Look at the bottom of the screen and hit F6 when it says "Press F6 to load blah blah blah"
[*] A screen will show a list of drivers to load from the floppy which in most case only 1 item in the list
[*] Select the driver there and XP Setup should be able to detect your hard drive
[*] Resume XP installation as how you do normally
can these steps be applied to install windows for desktop?

Meaning you didn't load the correct drivers or you are trying to load it in the wrong way. Which method are you using?

You could try using pendrive with a floppy drive which i haven't personally try but i have people telling me that it works.

Yes, same steps applies to desktop only drivers that is selected is different. For example laptop users might select a "Mobile" version of the driver while desktop user choose the other non-mobile version of the driver to load.

1520 should be running on Intel 965 chipset correct? If your specs are the same as mine, then i think you missed out something during the slipstream.

I think you copied the files correctly...

NTLDR is your XP boot loader. Where are you getting this error? If you get this error after you install, maybe you need to re-install...For some reasons i think you screwed up your XP boot loader...

windows XP can not detect SATA, so, hv to use the USB floppy disc to boot and check your SATA controller drivers as it is needed during the bootup using USB floopy disc. Hope this will help.

Yes, indeed...your boot loader is missing.

At the "Press any key to boot from CD...", that's the part you press anything on the keyboard to start the setup. Try re-run the setup if you haven't do that and reinstall your XP.

subkiller,

You mean that the NTLDR file is missing from my current OS and not from the CD?

What do you mean by rerunning the setup?
I have to reinstall my OS to get the CD working?

Confused here, please help

Yes, its missing from your current OS and not the CD.

Re-running the setup means reinstall your OS.

Forget the CD...If you run the CD and you can detect your hard drive means your CD is working...
