I think it depends on who got to make that http request from the server first... regardless of the phone performance

The list of phones is available at any given time is probably read from a local(on device) list by the app. So, when it's refreshed, it'll compared the timestamp of the list and with the one on the server. If the one on the server has a later timestamp, the app downloads it, else no download. That's why it's fast. How quick or successful you're able to download the list the moment it is released depends on myriads of factors.... the timing of the app to request from the server, network latency, device performance, etc... and because soooo many requests coming to the server, it'll take some time to serve all of those requests (just like when some website is slow because too many incoming traffic), that's why the app lags or encounter errors

it's becuz the server is busy and couldn't cope with all incoming data requests....takes turns to serve all requests and if it takes too long, it times out and error... by the time we refresh again, all fully redeemed...so, it's a race to see which requests comes in first before the server slows down..

from the TnC it said winner is selected based on timestamp but didn't detail the mechanics of it..

damn....when I couldn't log in earlier...I thought the app was old and Maxis was forcing us to update it, and so I did.... It's a trap!!
