dunno why but telcos seems to target sarawak n sabah for promotions...like maxis got Sarawak Plan laugh.gif
*
that is because west malaysia's cellular phone is nearing saturation point already. sabah/sarawak still very low penetration rate, so they are battling in sabah/sarawak now to win more customers.

celcom is the natural incumbent in east malaysia, but looks like maxis and digi are gaining in these 2 states, at the expense of celcom.

well if Digi can deliver 3G, and slash their rates, and with number portability next year, i will switch to digi, retaining my maxis numbers.

i dont think 3G is that great. Video call - tried it a few times but dont find it useful. 3G internet gives more speed but DIgi Edge is a time-tested stable technology.

without 3G, DiGi earning still rocks.

the details out already. check them out at www.klse.com.my under the anouncement.

among other things;

1. Digi acquiring Time's 3G license and Time will give up 100% of its right until year 2018.

2. Digi and Time will work together to further discuss

a. role out of wimax, and Digi may allow Time to use their towers for wimax.

b. digi might become a service provider for wimax and Time the infrastructer provider (or other way round).

In summary, DIgi only sees value of Time's 3G spectrum. They don't even want to acquire Time because Time is not really a valuable company. Digi also sees very little value in Time's underutilised fiber-optic network.

that fiber-optic network is the key to dominate the broadband market...... but then also hard to utilised it...... TM did offer to buy it many times but they refuse to sell.....maybe in this case they might be also refusing to let digi touch the fiber-optic who knows?
*
THe fiber-optic network is underutilised , and even Time does not know how to utilize the infrastructure because it lacks connectivity and content.

However, linking up the last mile wireless broadband to wimax or 3G to Fiber optic trunk may prove interesting if it could boost up local seeders in bit torrent. biggrin.gif (does it work this way anyway?)

yep. I just spoke with one of the antenna installer. He said Ministry gives a go ahead for Digi to role out 3G service after some lobbying. He says his company is getting tender to install 3G devices for Digi already. That's why Digi very quiet these last few months because they are busy planning for their 3G role out.

1. Yes, you can have seperate address
2. Yes, there is an online billing.
3. Yes, it's free of charge.

-----
A different topic from the above.

I got a question. Let's say my billing address is my friend's house, but my friend lost the bill. Can I like go to the Digi Center and pay my bill without the bill?
*
