Finally managed to test this for myself. Penang roads rarely lets you go up till 100.
Anyways, if you cruise up till 120 then the motor does nothing. Petrol engine all the way, but it charges the battery very fast.
If you cruise till 100 then floor it (by this time, battery at approx 70% already), the motor will kick in. I'm only able to test it up to 120 due to traffic. But it doesnt "pull" like how it does from like 0 to 60, it's more like the engine screams and it accelerates gently.
However, this is just sample size of 1. Interested to hear experience from others...
Thanks for the sharing.
i'd booked mine, Non-hybird but Vsensing only.
One thing concerning stated in the owner manual for hybrid version is - recommend to park under shade to take care of battery life which hard for me.
Other things its like no spare tyre...for family wise, i think non-hybrid its better..with spare tyre - safety in mind, and bigger boot space..If just personal drive i will go for hybrid definitely
It seem honda hybird doesn't have robust cooling system for battery - for sure it can withstand hot temperature by tested in hot country like Malaysia and India, but if expose under hot sun battery life still affected they cant guarantee the battery life.
And I know some of the hybrid car come with battery cooling fan, it it will even kick in if temperature is high with car is idle(engine/motor off) in parking position (drawing power from the battery for fan for cooling). Manage to find one video regarding battery fan servicing in Toyota car on YouTube - cant share the link with my account still under probation...what a rule from lowyat.net (:
And upon checking with Honda sale, there's no such thing in Honda hybrid car (i guess its liquid cooling only)...Not sure how about Toyoda hybird in Malaysia like Cross or Camry..so will wait..Looking for another hybrid car maybe in next few years
