No idea why doesn't support FHD but I have no preference. But to date, my battery life very good. I usually use it at night coz day time is working time. Start using 8pm everyday after dinner to watch netflix. Can last 3 or 4 days watching videos from 8pm to around 10.30pm daily. Of coz come 4th day is subjective because battery at around 30%. Sometimes I continue watching, sometimes I'll charge it directly. Which teclast model is yours.
Also bigger battery don't translate to better battery life and longer usage time. Your chipset is unisoc SC9863A. Heard of this unisoc chipset? Your chipset is 28nm. My huawei is kirin 659, in 16nm. The different is 43% power usage. Having a larger battery purpose is to cover for the cheapo chipset. For 16% bigger battery, you are actually using 43% more power. And also unknown brands like teclast will not provide support after a few months. Mine still receiving although it's already a 3 yrs old tablet since launched by Huawei. Well my mediapad is also dual band WiFi LTE but of coz LTE is useless to me. I'm in a 500mbps Internet environment.
Well to each person, their preference. If your teclast has issues within 12 months of usage, really must ponder if rm399 is well spent, or should spend 300 more to get a stable tablet. My tablet is 1 and half years since bought last year February. Still good to date.
Is Mediapad T5 running on Android 10 or 11? I checked online and can only find Android 8 (Oreo) update available for this device. Please correct me if I am wrong. You may receive constant security updates and UI updates but I don't think it is as good as receiving an upgrade to OS 10 or 11. So in my opinion, any tablet is outdated after 2-3 years, be it Huawei or Teclast, unless you have spent a good RM 4K for a premium tablet such as the latest Matepad Pro or Samsung S7+ tab. And for a brand that is banned by major companies including Google itself, I don't see it as a stable device
As for the battery life, P20HD still lasts well, probably short 1-2 hours compared to Mediapad T5 as I have mentioned earlier but still good, isn't it? So 43% more power usage may sound as big as a dinosaur on the paper but in reality, it doesn't mean so much. Furthermore, the newer Android version also means better battery optimization.
Being said that, I am not going to say that Teclast P20HD is the best tablet in the world, but for that price, I don't find anything else better. And I am using my P20HD for more than 12 months, without any issues (EDIT : actually 11 months. I realised I bought it in September last year during 9.9 sales, but it feels like I am having it for years) :-). Well, nothing is perfect in this world. Any device could have issues and when it happens, it will be happier that I have only wasted RM 399 instead of RM 699.
Again, no tablet is perfect. If I am willing to spend more, I would still go for a better option, definitely not Huawei or Samsung or Apple (which I think overpriced) but another brand that has a decent reputation and good feedback/review. The key here is research. I am not going to buy some unknown tab just because it is cheap. I will definitely read a lot about the device to make sure it is worth spending on.
P/S : for those who are considering P20HD, you may also check out Alldocube iPlay 20S. Since P20HD is about RM 450 - 500 now, I personally think Alldocube iPlay 20S will be a good alternative, despite using the same processor and similar specs.
