Hello, would like to make some Mesh Wifi play here

Landscape
1,500 SQFT
3 Room
10+ Devices

Current Router: ASUS RT-AC86U
Router is beside my TV, at Living Room

Speedtest
Package: Time 500 MBPS
LAN: 500 MBPS
Living Room With Phone: 300 Mbps
My room With Phone: 5-20 Mbps

I always thought that an AC86U could support a single floor 1,500 SQFT House
Someone pointed out that my Router might be faulty, but i could get very good ping and speed when it is close to the Router

Just that when i am in my room, the speed is literally funny
I mean i still can load youtube, download stuff, but the speed is not hitting the cap that i need

I tried extend the coverage with the default router that Time Give TPLINK AC1350
I could get maybe 50mbps on the 5GHZ band
BUT because of this, it keep cause my main SSID(Main Router) problem
Meaning sometime we cannot connect to the main router SSID anymore, will need to reboot so it can be connected again

So i guess MeshWifi could be something im looking for
Should i go for those DECO Packs? Or should i just get another ASUS Router for AIMesh?

Thanks

Did you set the TP link to AP mode? Are you using same ssid as the Asus router on the TP link. I am using a similar set up with an Asus router and TPlink as AP connected by lan and have no issue using same SSID.

I set my TPLink as Repeater Mode
And the SSID is Diff

SSID is like
AC86U : House
AC1350 as Repeater: House-Extend

Anyhow, i am kinda confuse what's the difference of AP mode vs Repeater/Extender and etc
Kinda confused with these terms

I just set my AC86U as Default Router
AC1350 as Repeater, and it connected to the AC86U SSID and create another extended SSID

Thanks for help

Are you able to connect the Asus and TPlink by lan? Repeater mode is useless cause you introduce lag. AP mode is like having another WiFi antenna on your Asus router remotely nearer to the WiFi blackout area.

Cannot, the Asus Router is in the living room connected to the Modem Via LAN
TPLink Router is in my room to act as a repeater so i get better signals

Hope i get this right
AP mode: It should be LAN connected and so other device can connect it wirelessly
Repeater: It is Wirelessly connected to another router so other device can connect it wirelessly

Did i get this right?

Yes right
Maybe you can connect the 2 router using Internet over powerline?

Also if you want to use the TPlink as repeater you should place it somewhere halfway between your room and Asus router. Don't place it in your room.

I will go for Asus router personally. Easier with AiMesh. You can also check out my Asus TUF Gaming AX3000 Review. AiMesh performance included.

Your current Asus router is more than enough.
Are you using the Asus router along with the TIME router?
If it is possible, replace the TIME router with the Asus router.
