hey guys, so any of you encountered this?

so last time we used those old landline phones with the copper wires , etc.

but last few days no line, made a complaint to TM. And what they answer was that they would not repair this kind of cases anymore. and straight wanna push customers to take wireless line/phones.

problem is, how much we need to pay/cost involved to upgrade to the service? and what is the common procedure?

Not consider buy new one ka? I think u have to choose ur package 1st. Then they go and do fresh installation.
They dont use the old black thick wire already. Now black wire quite thin, fibre.
The wire i think 1st few meter is free, after that certain meter they start charge, something like that if no mistaken.

Actually after complete installation, u still can use ur old wired line house fon, still same using rj11 cable. But if the package u choose comes with free wireless fon then just use the wireless one, or use splitter can use both.

i think they are talking about those unifi air and unifi mobile offering.
it makes tons of sense for them to migrate because higher opex maintaining cooper network especially on rural area, dont forget tons of cases of people stealing copper wire which incur lot of cost to TM.

I assume you are talking about those old landline without Internet. Yes TM is slowly discontinuing copper line to save cost on maintenance. They do offer a wireless house phone but you have to check with them on pricing. I know this when my friend taman the copper always get stolen, so in the end they use wireless homeline.

From the initial post I assume TS do not use fix line internet hence he is just talking about the phone. Maybe TS can clarify further.

If they refuse to repair the landline you can complaint to refund regarding how many days of the offline case.

TM still no black and white to confirm terminate old contract. So be fair you just pay how much base on how often of the offline/online case.
Here to buy

There is a choice. Buy a GSM deskphone and put in prepaid sim card. But I never use any 4g deskphone so hope others can recommend.

Line prob or phone prob first?

last taim corded phones is lifetime warranty. Nowadays no more corded phone liao so consider end-of-life no more warranty.

If line prob they should fix it because u are paying the phone bill. So either they fix the line or change line whatever u mean.
Unless they dont want your business anymore.

If phone rosak i got extra phone gip u free

Anyone face this issue recently? No choice but forced to convert to wireless home phone (use simcard) or Fibre line based phone? Both with higher price commitments.......

if you still copper, even streamyx, it will call you change fibre, but if you don change plan price still same
end of last year my high rise flat copper change to fibre because TM keep call me,
i ask it will renew contract? he say no unless i change plan
then i just agree change fibre, and upgrade plan

ping from about 30 -40, now only 1-5

yeah correct. tm will not entertain/service copper anymore.

if you dont have unifi, have to pull dedicated fibre for phone.

If your parents don't use internet why do you need a landline? Get a mobile phone for them and use prepaid SIM, only RM30 a month.
