Officially launched in Malaysia back in December 2020, the F1 Sport sits right at the bottom of Goodyear's Eagle F1 series tires - perhaps a move by Goodyear to capture the budget/economy UHP market.
In terms of price, F1 Sports is the cheapest, followed by F1 Asymetric 5 and then F1 SuperSports. However F1 Sports is only available for 16-18 inch wheels for now. Not much reviews available online for this tire due to the limited availability. Currently only available in our region - Malaysia Thailand & Australia. It's not available in US/Europe where tire reviews/testing are more prevalent. Would like to hear comments from local owners on this tires tho. My car have been using stock size tyres similar to yours, 205/45r17. Changed from Contisportcontact 5 to Continental MC6 in Sept 2019 and to Goodyear Eagle F1 sport in Sept 2020. Reason for the change from MC6 to Eagle F1 sport is due to a sidewall bulge in one of the tyre, likely bad road surface and potholes. In summary, I would rate the tyres in the following order (better to worst):
Handling in general - MC6 > CSC5 > EF1S Comfort - EF1S > MC6 > CSC5 Noise at <80km/h - EF1S > MC6 > CSC5 Noise at >80km/h - EF1S = MC6 > CSC5 Rolling resistance - EF1S > MC6 = CSC5 I can't comment much on braking, as I havent done any E-brake. But felt EF1S need to start braking slightly earlier, compared to MC6/CSC5. Braking confident is slightly better in MC6. Immediate feel of the tyre is that EF1S is a lot more comfortable (felt rounded when run over uneven surface) and less noisy at low speed. I will give MC6 the edge for confidence at higher speed cornering. Also, I notice the fuel consumption has been alot lower on the EF1S (12 to 14km/L) compared to MC6 (9 to 10 km/L). Cheers. |

QUOTE(fookyuan @ Jan 7 2021, 09:06 PM) Handling is subjective which depends on type of car and need a pro driver to really give a correct representation of handling. Thus, I mentioned 'handling in general', which in context of driving over progressive bends (usually at highway entries/exits) at speed between 50-60 km/h. My car (engine: NA, less than 100hp/135nm) fitted with mc6 is able to take this corner confidently, close to 60 km/h, and still able to point sharply. CSC5 felt 'loose' and I will ease the throttle a little to 50km/h or lower. This difference is really depends on the type of car and driver's confidence. This thread is for the Goodyear Eagle f1 sport. For more scenarios, do gather more information of the mc6 and CSC5 from https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Continental/ |

Which one is better overall? EF1S or MC6. I plan to switch my current 4-year-old MC5 tyres to EF1S. I wanted to go for Michelin PS4 but I can't afford it.

Since you mentioned better overall, I would assume you daily your vehicle and not spirited driving. For daily vehicle, I would emphasize on low rolling resistance and comfort oriented tyres, which is the eagle F1S. The 6months assurance by goodyear is an added value, should anything happened to the tyres. |

Rm255 per piece, size 195/50/16 at ban hooi kapar klang. Replacing stock toyo r50 on yaris, this F1s is noticably noisier, but it is expected from uhp tire. Threadwear stated 300, traction AA, temperature A. 6UE5T liked this post

waiting for more review, been using F1 A2 and replaced them with Excellence due to budget, the time F1 Sport not yet launched
off topic, I'm actually quite surprised how good Excellence is, acceptable handling & feedback but a lot better in quietness & comfort compared with F1 A2 QUOTE(dude06 @ May 10 2021, 07:18 PM) F1 A3 is replaced by F1 A5, should be above F1 Sport |

This morning, I installed 4 brand new Eagle F1 Sport. It is too early for me to provide a detailed review of the ride and handling. After 30 minutes of driving, my first impression was of the tyres' quietness. I'm in love with it and it's much better than my previous MC5.

Wont choose Primacy because my company car is fitted with Primacy 3 and the braking performance is not as good. Surveying Hankook, GY, Yokohama as well. Maybe will downgrade because although CSC5 is really good, comfort wise is really poor. Car rattling like hell going over bad roads. |

QUOTE(Josh_99 @ Sep 15 2021, 07:43 PM) Hi bro, any update for eagle f1 sport? I'm planning to get this tyres. Looking forward for your reply Well, I think it is dependent on the individual's driving style. I mostly drive in the city in normal driving conditions (occasionally a bit aggressive). So far so good, quite comfy, handling and braking performance above my expectations. The sad thing is that I didn't get a chance to test in wet conditions because there hasn't been much rain lately. The main reason I chose F1S was because of its relatively low price for UHP tyres (entry level). It costs RM 1500 for 4 pcs of 215/50R17, including alignment and balancing. However, the tyres are still new, we will see how they perform after a certain amount of mileage (10Kkm, 20Kkm). I can assure you that I have no regrets for picking F1S.This post has been edited by kelvinhyt: Sep 18 2021, 03:04 PM |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Sep 8 2021, 11:58 AM) Really? Wow... I'm really surprised to be honest since one of my car is fitted with CSC5. Yes indeed fitted on the Kia Rio. Comfort and rattling does reduce alot, with comfort F1S>MC6>CSC5, especially over those pot holes due to the car's stiff suspension/low profile tyre, given me jarring feel. F1S doesn't give me the jarring feel any more, at the expense of handling, braking is good but not as grippy as CSC5. The new Toyo CR1 seems to be another good option for comfort by looking at its thread. I'm all for comfort BTW are you driving a Kia Rio? I think only Rio came with 17inch stock CSC5. My tires are almost 10 years. Thinking to change but really limited choice for 205/45/17. PS4 cost over RM410. They market it not only new but also when wear the braking distance also better compare to competitors. The only weakness is hydro or aquaplaning is not that great, but others like wet & dry braking is on the top 1 nowadays. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2021-Sp...r-Tyre-Test.htm This post has been edited by littlefire: Sep 20 2021, 02:01 PM |

Are there anymore F1S tire owners who can share their personal reviews on this tire? Wet, dry performance, handling and quietness? Very little experience sharing on this thread.

Just installed F1S 3weeks back.
Coming from MC5, I feel this tire much better in wet road. Easier to moneuver. Size 215/50/17 Price didn’t change much Rm395 each. If compare Michelin Primacy 4, Rm100 increase each tire since last year. |

Installed 3 weeks back. Impression and opinion after 2k km millage. Upgraded from Dunlop D06 1. Fun to drive tyre type. Traction is good. 2. Leaning towards premium touring rather than UHP category. Traction rated AA but I think on malaysia road I personally rate it as A only. 3. Wet grip wise - Michelin PS series is miles ahead, XM2 is slightly better. However, fares better than the crappy Toyo proxess series and conti UC series. Noticeable better grip than Dunlop D06 4. Dry grip wise - No comment as I am not speed demon. 5. Overall it is a better buy than the pricy XM2+ although the treadlife 300 vs XM2+ of 420. Surprisingly save more fuel compared to Dunlop D06. However Ecopia EP series is still the king of low rolling resistance tires. However it is still new, I'll be back to comment after usgae of 20k and 40k km millage This post has been edited by thkent91: Mar 21 2025, 04:07 PM Kr0ll3R liked this post
