From your shot, it looks different from my CCD problem. Best advice is to sent direct to Canon HQ @Saujana Shah Alam, I believe it will be repaired FOC even though you are out of warranty. Unless your problem cropped up because of your misuse, the technicians will know. However you will need to leave your camera at the Service Centre and they will get back to you in a few days.

okies, i hv to train my f* vmad.gif *king skills and try to get FOC service / repair from Canon.  flex.gif

i hv the same thinking as urs; processor problem is not acceptable.
the camera is just 1yr + 3 months only, and i just take 5k shots...

* unless they purposely design their processor to works for 5k shots.

so, do u send ur camera back to Canon?
*
Nope... I thought it was hopeless to try to claim warranty for a warranty-expired product, and that repairing such a cheap camera may not be worth it compared to saving up for a new one (or new accessories for my current one...).

Funny thing is, Canon service centre is like almost right in front of where I stay in Singapore...

i'm not sure i can get a repair for FOC or not since my camera is running out from its warranty period.
if the problem is really happens on Sensor (CCD) or processor, it's really upset and unacceptable.
it will break the good image of Canon in my heart.

If it is proven CCD problem, Canon will defenitely replace a new camera for you. Don't worry about that. My friend faced the similar problem a year ago and he got new camera replaced eventhough the warranty period is over.

Yes, I was try to get FOC service or discount from them; I failed to do so.
I asked the technician how long (or after how many shots) the repaired part can last after I repair it, he told me that he also can not guaranteed abt it. He only manage to give me 3 months warranty on the repaired part. cry.gif

By the way, any forumer know abt A530? it's good?
