Axia Compressor use Sanden SP-10 oil, is it okay to use Denso ND-Oil 8?

All my nearby air cond service use denso oil... Hard to find sanden compressor oil, any ideas?

All compressor oil the base oil is either PAG46 or PAG100 oil.

Sanden SP-10 if not mistaken is PAG46
Denso ND-Oil 8 also is PAG46 so it can use

But take note a lot of Denso ND-Oil in market is fake and not real PAG46 oil. So becarefull..
I last time being taught to check real PAG oil is to mix some water with the oil and shake it, if it got heat reaction then it is the real PAG46 oil.

If you got a lot of money to change the compressor and the whole A/C system just wait until it kong loo.. biggrin.gif
FYI, once the compressor kong the debris will travel across the whole A/C system, most item like valves, coils & condensor might be contaminated with the debris and even using acid or chemical wash some debris wont be able to come out and stuck inside causing the pressure not stable.. That why most of the time when compressor kong case they change whole system.. icon_idea.gif

So many shop also can service A/C in penang, nowadays just plug in machine only. If you can travel to Nibong Tebal i can introduce 1 shop HK CHUAH auto services center, 012-531 2001.

Thank you smile.gif , I just asked perodua about Major Aircond Service that is optional at 60k, it's RM144 on their website, but called to Juru SC they quote me RM200 or so. Include: Receiver drier, flush and charge new refrigerant+compressor oil, remove dashboard to clean cooling coil.

Also called to a reputable air cond service shop near me, they quote RM300 but without cleaning the cooling coil. But their expertise is unquestioned.

What do you think? rclxub.gif

Modern cars nowadays need to be service. Everything also want fuel economy better, lighter.. So nowadays compressor are made lighter and more sensitive to compressor oil type..

I would not spend $$ to so-called 'service' compressor , be it at SC or outside aircond shop .
Having said that , before the compressor kong if ever it happens , the warning sign is that the cool air from aircond system is not running cold enough when compared against normal times .
By then and only then, I will visit an aircond shop outside for the sole purpose of topping up refrigerant gas AND some compressor oil simultaneously , with or without filter drier change depending on shop recommendation .
In other words, if aircond system is working fine I won't visit SC or outside for so-called compressor 'service' .
Btw, I roughly know how aircond compressor/evaporator/filter drier/condenser works .

You're not wrong, I'm still thinking whether if its worth it to service my aircond at SC, for about RM200 they also clean your cooling coil. There isnt much documentation around to suggest servicing your AC system before it fails is a necessity sad.gif. But the compressor oil color got change for sure, from light yellow to dark yellow/red-brown. Probably caused by high pressure and temperature which makes the oil chemically breakdown.

On most cases, people wait until the aircond not cold alrdy, then maybe pipe/coil is leaking..if unlucky compressor kong lor. Sometimes it works for 10+ years without service at all...

That why i said nowadays things are made to be lighter & sensitive to so call improve fuel economy.
You take the old toyota corolla compressor or other older type compressor weight and try turn 1 round compare to new modern compressor.
Older compressor design usually is more bigger, heavier but long lasting compare to modern compressor which is smaller, lighter but sensitive to maintenance.

Nowadays car manufacturer need to improve their fuel economy and to find ways to reduce load on their engine and the compressor is one of the process which will rob the engine power to create the cool air inside your car. If not why those days race wannabies will off the A/C when race as it will reduce the engine load = more power = more fuel economy if driven lightly. icon_idea.gif

Besides that modern A/C also using so call PAG compressor oil, this oil also will loss it's viscosity in long term. I have ask quite a few professional A/C shop and they does tell me one of the reason is not much people believe about it that you also need to change the compressor oil or refill the gas more frequently on modern cars as modern A/C is not really close system nowadays as the compressor itself does have pressure relieve valves to reduce the pressure load when driven hard or overload.

Cars still need to do maintenance. But problem is manufacturer keep increasing maintenance duration. They cite better technology allows that. But problem is they keep using degradable materials that does not allow longer lifespan. Planned obsolescence is replacing metal with plastics. So the design that could last at least 20 years with metal has dropped to 7 years or less with plastics. (The warranty period at max is a dead give away). And they market this as lifetime warranty. That only means the life of the version not the life of the materials. Most kena tipu with this.

Update: I asked a Axia owner with a high mileage car, 180k in 5 years.

His compressor changed once at 70k with warranty. Since then got service aircond every 60k, no problem until now.

If driving around city, it would take me like 6 years~ to clock up 60k. I think I will just service at SC every 3 years. drool.gif

The worst thing is, you take the magnetic clutch from a compressor as an example. Most aircond specialist outside that are honest will happily fix it for you. Go SC? Change compressor liao sad.gif...

No wonder those tauke keep changing bmw X5 when its free service and warranty runs out. Comfort first, somemore get tax deduction

Upon inspection, the receiver drier I think is welded to the condenser itself, and no caps to remove it...how tf are they going to change the filter out? Axia btw.

Yes, this is for sure as a lot of country is going to ban or scrap those cars which is not environmental friendly in few years time.
So what the point of designing cars which can last 10 or 20 years. It is not like during 90's where everything is made for last and like you said the warranty given is already dead give away.
If you want something to last longer is better to pick those older cars, if want better safety or fuel economy pick the newer 1 and either sell it after 5 years warranty or prepare some maintenance fund after warranty ends. icon_idea.gif

I would not take that long.. actually driving in city you even stress the A/C especially traffic jam during noon.. Even your mileage is not moving, but your engine & compressor still working like hell to cool you down in the car.. If possible every 1 or 2 years to service it would be better..
