long time i no follow the thread. but i really feel u bro when i read this.

If its been 7 months, what a long wait, time to act accordingly.
Getting a trusted SA is a must. be it experience one or inexperience one. I am lucky that my friend refer his
Trusted SA to me. He dont even know the features of X50, nor X70. but he get the job done. When i go collect car, he dont even know how the car work. Ironically, i am the one that explain back to him for some features.
But at the end of the day, what trusted SA do is get the job done, which is getting ur car ready for u. then its good job already.

Sorry cos i dont climb back to read the whole story of urs.
Sorry again if i missed up anything. its just a suggestion.

I got read how others succesfully get theirs after the long wait at other forum / group pages. just to share.
Dunno work or not. Again, sorry if its not working.

Before i choose the SA recommended to me, I too go visit other showroom, and the other dealer SA just say wait 6 month. that is year 2020. The other dealer SA show up quite a good service explaining all the details to me. Those gimmicks even before i was able to see the car, nor any car arrive to the showroom. But lastly i didn't choose him, yet i go back to the recommended one, cos i see how fast my friend get his X70 before.

As per my SA, The queue count will only start when LOU presented. He had request me to do it ASAP,
so he can entering to the queue ASAP. I bet u already know the hellish mess proton to dealer car allocation by now.

By 7 months, meaning ur LOU must have dated before OCT 2020. Booking should be before that too. Might be 1st day launching. BTW, dunno ur LOU expired already or not. If LOU expired and renew, they might reset the queue count. MIGHT. Hopefully not.
If this is what happen, meaning to say LOU as over 6 month.
Time to call-up the manager or owner. Ur SA not doing his job at all. no need wasting time on him.
Make an appointment and straight to their office. Straight to the Manager / GM room.
See them FACE to FACE, and ask them for car allotment. with ur proof of LOU and booking receipt.

By right, u should have getting ur car. on or before 6 mth. Demand for the reason of not.
The manager should have the last say of which SA get the car allocation.
Are they ignoring ur purchase?
Are they not submitting ur LOU to PROTON to provide ur allocation?
Are your allocation passed to someone else? < this always happen, ahem , VVIP >

If the problem is on PROTON side. Request them to follow up with letter. get as much proof in written matter and time to look for PROTON. Email them up to follow up.

Last word. Even if u wanna give them a angry face, its ok to do so. Some succeeded get theirs by this.

Hope ur issue resolved. Have a nice day and weekend.

Sorry, I took so long to reply to you as I wanted to provide the actions i have taken and what the car dealer with regard to my complains on the late delivery of my car.

I booked my car on October 2, 2020 (date of the VSO).

I applied for hp financing and received the LOU on November 25, 2020.

Fast forward, by May 2 2021 I have waited for 7 months from VSO date and almost 6 months from LOU date.

In the meantime, I have also applied to another bank for hp financing hoping to have a more competitive rate compared to the other bank has approved my hp rate. (hp rate shopping).

I have also called Proton HQ and complained that I have waited for so long for my car. Proton HQ said the 6 months period should be from the LOU date not from VSO date. If I don't receive my car by May 24, 2021, they will take action.

I went to the dealer to meet the manager and complain. He is just transferred to this branch a month ago, the previous manager resigned within 24 hours (suspicious ). This manager told me there are 400 bookings for X50 for various types and only 40 cars delivered so far (10% of the order book).

I received a call from this lousy SA on May 25 2021 that I have been allocated my car with chassis number given.

In the meantime, my hp application from the second bank has been approved at a very good rate compared to the earlier bank. I signed the hp agreement.

I paid the down payment on May 28, 2021.

Because of the MCO, I decided to register my car on May 31 before the total MCO lockdown kicks in on June 1 2021 and miss the tax exemption period on June 30 2021. The car will be delivered after MCO is lifted. Anyhow, this evening PM just announced the tax exemption period will be extended to December 31 2021. Doesn't matter to me anyone.

The manager assured me, car comes without accessories as demanded by other dealers.

Important takeaways, as mentioned by many people in this forum, ask around for references to reliable SAs, choose a smaller size dealers and keep following up on the SA on the status of your car.

Are you based in penang? Why your story about the changing manager almost similar to what been told by my SA?
Yes, once your LOU approval date past 6 months, you can directly call Proton HQ to put the pressure on the manager, no need specially talk to the manager. The dealer will need to answer HQ accordingly, and HQ allocates 1 car to the dealer for you.
*
No, I'm based in KL. I guess your dealer is Proton Edar. Future owners, please raise your concerns directly with Proton HQ, if you are close to 6 months from the date of your LOU and have yet to hear from your dealer on your car allocation.

Good to hear ur getting ur car after MCO. Hope everything run smooth after this and no more hiccup in between.
Indeed a good trusted reliable SA with good track record on the dealership including owner and manager play important part when buying the car.
*
I have to thank you for your guidance based on your experience. Yeah, hope everything is smooth all the way from the delivery of the car, to the assembly quality and to the service & maintenance of the car.

This thread has helped me through the entire process from waiting for car till the list of defects to check upon collection to the enhancements that could be done and potential fixes to minor issues with the car. So thank you for all those helpful people here! Sharing now what I did to the car (flagship) ever since I got it last week (not as crazy as the bumblebee owner tongue.gif).

1. Full chrome delete, changed to white lining on grill and wrapped the ring surrounding the tiger head biggrin.gif
2. Tinting and coating
3. Added front lip with white lining
4. Coil spring buffer
5. Front strut bar
6. Viofo A129 Plus duo dashcam
7. Powerboot with kick sensor
8. Sikaflex tape on all 4 doors (doesn't really reduce the wind noise as far as I can tell so don't bother doing that tongue.gif)
9. Door guard from Shopee and door handle protector
10. Steering cover
*
Hi, I believe you are in KV. I'm interested to install powerboot with kick sensor and Viofp A129 Plus duo dashcam. Where did you install those accessories and can you provide me the address and contact details of the shop? Are their workmanship good and price reasonable? Hope all these accessories will not affect the car warranty. Thanks.

I did mine with https://m.facebook.com/rdcustoms1/. They only do weekend by appointment and either at your place or their place in Subang. But they are not doing anything for these two weeks due to MCO.

You can contact them in FB for appointment. Workmanship wise, they are good and makes sure the wiring are consealed properly. They even give you good explanation on questions you have. The items you want to install is plug and play so no voiding of warranty.

The only thing is their powerboot does not come with soft close. If you are looking for soft close, you can either check with them or look for AllCrossFifty Accessories in FB to check their price. They are located in klang.

It was mentioned that power-boot kick sensor is plug and play, hence would not affect the car's warranty. How about dash cam, is this also plug and play? If not, will the installation of it affects the car's warranty? Thanks.

Almost 11 months for me now

It's going to be a long wait for everyone who booked their car. KV is in Phase 1 and the earliest we can move into Phase 2 maybe in Sept based on the statistics now. I waited for slightly more than 6 months before I got my chassis number. I quickly asked the SA to register my car on 31 May before the EMCO came into effect on 1 June. No car, but insurance and road tax already commenced except that hp will only start when the car is delivered. Even then, I don't know when I will get my car. Seriously, my enthusiasm over the car is on the low side.

When did you register your car? I registered my car on 31 May 2021, just 1 day before MCO kicked in on 1 June 2021. I have yet to receive the delivery of my car. I saw your post now and texted my SA about it. The SA said, will let me know tomorrow on the status of the delivery of my car.

I booked my car on 2 October 2020. Registered with JPJ on 31 May 2021. The Principal of the Branch I booked just called me and said the car is now at Glenmarie and I can it next week like you. Have to thank you because if you have not posted your message here, I would just continue to wait without checking the SA. My SA is hopeless, no initiatives and never get in touch with his customers at all.

just done 1k service, all FOC

I want to find out the 1st 1k km service, is that a time limit say a month. I looked at the service booklet, it didn't state it is within 1 month. For subsequent services, it is 10k km or 6 months whichever comes first. I registered my car on 31 May just before the MCO kicked in on 1 June. My car was delivered to me on 9 September (> 3 months later). Currently, my mileage is 200km. So, do I need to do the service for 1k km service before 8 October or it would affects my warranty. Kindly enlightened me. Thanks.

I've gotten conflicting information about this one. Some say it's 1 month. But if you check the booklet there are no specific mentioning of '1 month' for the first service'. My personal experience with my SC is that I did (actually another friend of mine did the same as well) my first servicing at 3 months because it did not hit the 1000 km mark. No issues from the service center regarding warranty or fees.
*
That's what I understand too by looking the maintenance schedule in the booklet. If Proton wants the owner to service the car for 1k km within 1month, they would have stated 1 in the month row above the second row showing the mileage. You know even the SA or SM also not sure when I asked them based on the service booklet.

my SA also only told me I have 3 free labour service fee
hope to hear from your update soon bc Proton sure receive alot of customer complaints..

tbh feel like the real thing here is not about the first service free or not, it's more about the integrity or trustworthiness of PROTON and our SA

I did my 1k km service today, my mileage is 300km. I got my car 3.5 months later after I registered it with JPJ. Technically, I can't comply with 1 month or 1k km service whichever was earlier since I'm already into 4.5 months. Worried that my car warranty will be void as mentioned by some of us in this Forum.

My experience, the SA don't bother to check when you took delivery or registered your car. He just keyed in your car details into the system, stamped your service booklet and tell you it takes about 1.5 hours to service your car. I hope the answer provided here clear the air. However, after saying that, it's best you service your car within 1 month or you can't make within 1 month try to service ASAP. I even got an umbrella as a gift after servicing.

Since I'm here, just to check what fuel you normally used for your car, Ron 95 or Ron 97?

Hi there, I just did 3M Crystalline CR20 for rear windows and rear windscreen and last night it looks good but borderline on cannot see. I think any below 20% is too dark and not safe.

For sunroof, usually shop will recommend you take "building tint" as it's cheaper and supposedly same heat rejection (I got quote for ~RM200). I went for 3M CR20 for the sunroof and paid RM500 for peace of mind (whole car 3M yay rclxms.gif).  So far, quite happy with the heat rejection but only day 2, so let's see.

Manual page 224 state RON92 enough hahaha. Anyway the RON97 (RM2.87/L) vs RON95 (RM2.05/L) 40% delta too big d so not worth it tongue.gif
Quite good. I got 2.27% 80k loan for 5yrs Maybank.
*
The HP rate varies not that much between banks. The difference in the HP rates matters very little if worked out over the loan period. I took 80k loan for 4 years with CIMB for 2.20% interest/pa. If the deliver of the car takes a while, then by all means shop around for better HP rate otherwise, goes to the bank that can grant you approval soonest possible.

Did you guys take the X50 urban or utility package for the electric power tailgate (EPT)?

I'm considering it but RM3300-3500 is quite high for an EPT plus accessories. Smart Tag also may be phased out soon so not sure if it's worth it. Other accessories can get from Shopee at much cheaper price  brows.gif
*
Not sure whether Proton still offers the utility car package for power boot kicker. Are you from KV, f yes, you can get it installed at cheaper price and of a better quality. I just installed power boot kicker and dashcam yesterday for slightly less than 2.9k.

Just installed power boot at all cross fifty with leg sensor.

If u planned to install one make sure it is not universal model. Universal wont let u open/close boot from the unlock button at driver seat.
*
I did mine too at X fifty a week ago. I thought he used only 1 model type model. Young guys, both of them 25 years old. One studying for professional qualification and come over part-time, while the other guy manned the outlet.

Guys, can anyone confirm if the factory version comes with tinting? It looks to my naked eye like there is tinting.

My SA says no tinting whatsoever. Car workshop Uncle say got, and better just keep using it vs putting a cheap rm1.5k tint.

Any opinions? My budget for tinting around rm1.5k, and also must be JPJ compliant.

Thanks!
*
Good tint will costs double of that amount. You won't regret if you have a good tint on your car as it protects and cool your car and easily lasts more than 10 years without any peeling effect. It's up to you to choose whichever brand you desire. The difference between them boils down to your own preference. Hence, I would not recommend any specific brand here.

If you planning on keeping the car for a long time might as well go a good quality tint such as V-Kool. Will last you 10 years + without any issue. Expensive yes. But quality is pretty much guaranteed.
*
Agree. Any good quality branded tint will help, after all you already spent a small fortune in getting the car.
