Haihh... i was rejected by Honda Malaysia for HONDA CITY 2017 GEARBOX Problem and they want to charge me RM20,000 to change a new gearbox. Reason because of poor attendance of service. For your information, my car is only 36k mileage! For example, if you are late for one term 1 year back, they still has the reason to reject you if you found out there is problem to your Honda. 5 YEARS WARRANTY is a fake gimmick? Any advice to fix this issue? i really know nothing about car. i thought i bought a low maintenance car, who knows it is not. They will call you for service for the first 2 years and made you thought to depends on the service term. they have no compassion about the MCO and want user to bear the cost at this bad times. Thats has always been the term and condition.

If you wanna have warranty coverage you have to service your car according to schedule.

And no modifications to your car.

even if something is low maintenance, its still always good to at least be on schedule/on time with the service attendance. a car has thousands of individual parts and bolts and any one of them can fail at any time, so do not mistaken "low maintenance" for " no maintenance"

To keep the warranty one of the T&C is to service according to schedule. Late a month or two or within 2,000km mileage is fine. During MCO Honda did issue notice that they will honour if ur service interval falls in MCO.

I guess u service it outside or only service according to the mileage. Honda terms is 6 months OR 10,000km. It is "OR".

to be fair to honda, all car makers hold by that rule not only honda. your warranty claim is voided because of your negligence... Only way out now is to repair them outside for maybe half the price

Wtf so low quality honda. Already got faulty gearbox despite less than 5 years. Haha. Mine not service for 1 year also didn’t encounter this kinda problem.

If Honda and the Service dealer can reject your claims, that means that have enough proof that you didn't follow the required service intervals to be performed at the service centers. The terms and conditions have been clearly stated on the warranty and service booklet.

It's your mistake that you failed to send the car back for routine maintenance. So you have the bear the consequences now.

If you send it to outside workshops, it would only cost you a fraction of what it would cost you to get your gearbox replaced at the service centre.
