Hi guys, I’m a newbie here. So I’m getting the new Myvi 2020. Just wondering what are some mods that you recommend to improve the car’s performance wise as in power and handling. What are some good mods that you recommend ?

I plan to do a few mods :

FTuned suspension
Anti roll bars
Exhaust system
Rims and tyres
Sound system
Soundproofing

Please share some insight as I’m a newbie to modding.

Anyway on a serious note, if u want to spend so much money to mod a myvi, maybe get a jazz or yaris instead

Upgrade to some good tyres first...you will be surprised how different the car may feel

Yeah i do plan on changing tyres... what are you thoughts on ad08r ? or achilles 123s ?

If still have time, save yourself time and money and headache from unknown mod return and get yourself another better car. Myvi 1st gen which I used to own is not a good platform, I personally think Myvi 3rd gen is not any better.

First insight, state your budget.
2nd, why to improve power?
3rd, why to improve handling?
what is it lacking?

power, handling... sees last 2 items in list

nothing here will bump power up. exhaust as is hardly does nuts on these cars (if the shop tells you otherwise, ask for proper dyno graphs and a guaranty that it makes the promised power kek)

comfort and performance don't usually get along, when they do they are super expensive.

sound system and soundproofing has nothing to do with performance, but since you mentioned it I'll give you a precaution.

Make sure you find a good shop what have spare brand new panel, trim clips for replacement. A lot of shop claimed they will not break anything, in fact just simply ignore the broken plastic clips.
Don't later you isolate road noice, but get plastic rattle everywhere which is much more annoying.

This. No matter how much you mod, the Yaris is still a better built car with better chassis. From a fellow G3 Myvi owner.

1) ftuned - they have GT and S series iinm. Good enough for a myvi
2) ARB - it’s a good investment if you understand what each of the bar offers
3) exhaust system - not sure what changes it can bring to a myvi. Pls no ayam brand exhaust
4) rims and tires - again, no cheap fakes pls
5) & 6) not my cup of tea

1, a good suspension wont affect much if you dont have a good tyre
2. UR bar.
3. wont change a thing, unless you de-cat which is illegal and only selfish driver will do this. the emmision is very toxic.
4. changing rims is not s performance upgrade, just visual, better change bigger brakes so that you wont crash into others.
5&6, if you change those loud exhaust you can forget this.

please drive safe and considerate. is just a myvi.. you got the budget to mod all these stuffs, why dont get a better chasis and specs

My car is stock as well.

Suspension will improve handling, but will sacrifice comfort.

ARB will stiffen the car if added correctly.

Exhaust will contribute to performance, but don't expect too much out of this. Mostly people want some noise out of it.

Rims will contribute to better acceleration. If you add bigger rim to look nicer, you need to use thinner tyre, which will reduce your comfort and possibility of bending the rim. If you change to 15-inch rim, better buy a good/light rim which will contribute to better acceleration, won't break into pieces, and same comfort as you're using 55 profile tyres.

Sound system is for ears, won't affect power/performance.

Soundproofing will reduce NVH if done correctly, but will contribute to weight, which won't meet your criteria of power/performance.

Thought of getting a Yaris, but looking at market price at mudah for the brz/ft86.. don’t you think it’s worth it go for that ? Since Myvi to Yaris is about 20k (comparing for the highest spec which is 20k ish ?) and then from Yaris to BRZ/FT86 is another 20k ish difference ?

Exhaust wise I won’t be going for cap ayam, been doing some research and I found max racing ? Intake, headers and exhaust with dyno graph of improving 19hp

Sound system cause I love music, not gonna be having woofers or anything.. maybe just changing the head unit and component speakers

Just want to improvise the car in general nothing much, hence the mod list.
