Hi sifus,

need some help here. I just bought the Tplink Ax50 router to replace the white Maxis provided router (Aminia AC1200). Using the Tplink web access I configure it to use the maxis profile enabling IPTV to Lan port 1 and VoIP to Lan port 4. Then I hooked the DECT phone RJ11 directly to Lan Port 4 on the Ax50. However I cant seem to get the phone line to work. Is there anything that I missed out or mistake done?

Thank you for the opinion in advance.

Another alternative thought process is if the above cannot be done, I was thinking of connecting the DECT phone back to the Alcatel-Lucent ONU that is provided by TM.

However, I dont know if the ONU can be configured to point to the maxis server instead.

I think you need to connect the maxis router to port 1 and connect the phone to maxis router. There is no RJ11 port for voip on your current router so the Maxis router is use to bridge voip.

You mean use back the original maxis router and use the AX50 as a AP instead? Btw you can plug in RJ11 into RJ45 port

it you ax50 is main router , LAN 4 for voip, than your router ac1200 wan port must connect to ax50 lan port 4, and phone still connect ac1200

you cannot just rj11 into rj45 port

I dont want to connect AX50 -> Aminia AC1200 -> Alcatel ONU

I want AX50 -> Alcatel ONU

RJ11 can plusg into RJ45 socket. The only thing is that the Pin assignment need to match correctly. In this case I do not know the pin assignment for the DECT phone vs the router Lan port 4

most people change router is no more use wire phone.

RJ45 ≠ RJ11

rj45 for network signal
rj11 for phone signal

oh you mean using the aminia as the secondary router dedicated only for the DECT...good idea. thank you for the insight. Just to confirm.

Alcatel ONT lan port 2 -> AX50 WAN port.
AX50 Lan Port 4 to Aminia AC1200 WAN port.

hi andrekua, i did exactly the same as instruction written. AX50 port 4 (VOIP) connect to Maxis Router (Wan port) and RJ11 connected at Maxis router. It give me engaging tone and cant dial through.

"(optional) Should want to use the VoIP service provided, tagging traffic on a LAN port (of your choosing) and the WAN port on your router with vlan id 821, 822. This allows the VoIP traffic to pass between LAN port and the WAN port, and no where else. I used the Maxis issued Technicolor TG784nv3 router to handle the VoIP connection. The Maxis router’s WAN is plugged into the designated LAN that you have chosen. No additional configuration is needed in the part of the Maxis issued router, the modem as configured by the service technician will work fine."

Have you guys submit tplink log to tplink technical help?

I use Asus RT-AX56U setup wizard select maxis, after done the IP is 192.168.50.1, and there is VoIP port on LAN 3.
On Archer C5v part, I only disable the internet & wifi connection, the rest all default, IP still 192.168.1.254, maxis voip is working on either RJ11 jack ( Archer C5v RJ11 phone indicator light up).

Alcatel ONT Lan port 2 -> Asus RT-AX56U WAN port
Asus RT-AX56U Lan port 3 -> Archer C5v WAN port
Motorola dect > Archer C5v RJ11

Hi, can i just check if this set up is still working for the viop phone? I did the same and was working fine until earlier this year. then just stopped. If i connect the c5v maxis router directly to the modem then its fine?

Also, from reading the forums, it seems that this lan port3 to c5V only works for asus routers and not tp-link. Did i get this right?

You cannot use the AX50 for voip. I called TPlink and they confirm even though there is selection in the menu for voip it does not work. I am using ONU to Asus router to maxis router to dect phone. The Asus does all the DHCP and the maxis router is purely for the voip. TPlink AX50 cannot be used for voip even though there is a selection in the menu. Asus routers lan 3 is always voip compatible.
