This feature of tagging user is prone to abuse as I've been subjected to constant tagging to read/react to troll posts by users who abuse this on a regular basis.


I wish for the feature to not be abused. To remove it from notices if so we wish not to receive them.

I believe that there was an ignore function for this kind of situation. Tagging is an essential function in this forum.

I still get notice even i put bot everest in my ignore list

Maybe need some work to tweak ignore user function?

Yes, if can ignore notices from user it would be perfect.

This is extremely prone to abuse if allowed to continue to tag people after making troll posts in another forum just to bait user to start war in another forum.


Cross thread and cross forum flame/trolling/harassment can start because of this abuse of tagging.

Ya agree. Sometimes the sohai dupe of Mr Soo not slow and timid keep tagging me and few others dunno for what no head no tail

Tagging is ok.

Abusing it is the problem; same case with 'Report' button.

Ban the user would solve the problem.

Doesn't work. They can abuse it various subtle ways.

Best to have option to ignore tag from certain user.

This has been abused for far too long to troll and start flame/harassments.

I've reported the guy's tag abuse a few times in the sports channel but seems no mod there has taken any action, no mod there ?

He is trying to bait me to engage in a flame war in his thread at his cycling topic, numerous times and I avoided participating/biting the bait or ruining other threads (which he is encouraging)


I've ignored him but the notices keep coming in when he tags and tags and tags for every attempt to troll/flame.


I will continue not to participate in his attempts to troll/harass but I really would like the mod/admin to be aware of this guy abusing the tag feature and warn him to back the hell off.

FYA, you can add the user in your "Ignore List", though I can't confirm whether the tag notification will be sent to you or not.

Perhaps can request this feature to add into the "Ignore User List" functions that tag notification won't be sent to you.

I hope mods can look into this as well.
