Do you personally know of any Malay that mostly listens to English music?
Exclude the following persons from the list, the Bangsar/Bukit Tunku elite, members of royal households and those that are of mixed parentage.
Are they as rare as it appears to be? I remembered many years ago I had a friend and neighbour that lived several doors away from my parents' then house, it was a weird situation because in the morning I would ride in his dad's car to go to my school while he would ride in my dad's car to go to his school. It was a without fail moment that his dad would listen to Nat King Cole, Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Paul Anka, Glenn Campbell and John Denver on that cassette player found in that government issue Mercedes W123, yes at that time as a DG of a government department you could get a Mercedes W123 or a Volvo 240 unlike now where it would only be a useless Proton Perdana. Also could remember that the entire family spoke flawlessly in English among each other and without any fake accents.
Wonder why it is so rare these days to find a Malay family that converses in English?

If I look into the mirror I'll see that person. Why? When I was in kampung school, ayam the rare one. When I move to elite school, it's a common scene

Yeah. Very rare. Even all my rich friends anak menteri, anak businessman, anak kerabat & etc still listen to malay song.
It’s very rare to find malay family that converse in English because we are in Malaysia. None of my rich friends 100% converse in English despite getting band 9 in IELTS and have suksesful parents.
