im sharing info for people who planned to buy. espeacially this cheapskate brand. u dont like to hear then u ignore. every bike frame can install or not are out of topic.
*
Actually, me and my riding group have been testing out a lot of these cheap brands and the parts have been quite good and long-lasting. Very surprising. A lot of them come from the same factory which produces the branded ones.

195g is not much for me. If I unable to find cheap price boxxer then it gonna make me buy another model which more than 1.3kg weight. LOL
*
What are you using now for your front fork? Overall my bike now is about 16.3kg, super heavy. Always like wanna die when climbing up the trails

completely DIY from a naked bike frame. So now I seeking cheap price DH fork like boxxer.

Plan not over 18kg for this bike.

If you always uphill better get a giant anthem. LOL
*
Nah, the Anthem is too XC for a lembu style rider for me. Good luck finding the Boxxer that you need! Not many DH forks locally within the Klang Valley that I see. Definitely see more of those sold on Gejamatoba in the north or on the east coast.

Yes agree ...I had anthem 2 back in 2016. Rear shock always bottom out when I was 85kg. Pump it up but become too hard. Malas want to play I go back hard tail carbon ....do xc mostly ...
*
Actually, if you are riding XC, the Anthem needs a bit more tuning up and playing around with the spacers as well. To me, I don't ride XC (not fit enough) so prefer a little more travel in the suspension.

Guys, just want to ask...had anyone try oval chain ring before ? Is it a gimmick thing ? ..... i seen alot of ppl recommended them...actually im having a dilemma whether to jump back to 30T or remain at 28T since i do much climbing....
*
I have had both before, still macam no difference. Pedal uphill still also very tiring LOL. I had a 28T chainring initially but I killed my crank arm which led me to change to a Shimano SLX one with a 32T (only 32T was in stock). Recently swapped back to 30T because I was having issues trying to tackle the technical uphill with 32T.

no need to practise, this set up should be fine with me on the climb...just want to know if oval chainring does help or not only if compare to round chain ring...coz im itching to try new thing if it really help
*
Out of curiosity, what is your definition of a climb? Road? Tarmac? Gravel? Offroad? Smooth? Technical climbs?

You mean the route condition that im climbing on ?
*
Yup, it helps with the selection of different stuff to the bike. Even from simple things like how many spacers you have between your stem to what length stem you are using, etc..etc..

Partial Gravel and sand, Partial Cement Road...Typical route normally you see ppl are building up to their farm
*
ok then don't worry about the chainring or anything else as most bike should be able to tackle those sort of terrain

shimano introduce new 220mm rotor.

user posted image

+10% more stopping power than 203mm.

Seem like change rotor more cheap than change brake set. LOL
*
Actually, for our terrain here and trails here, it is very rare that we need 220mm rotors unless you are riding your eMTB DH. If you are heading to Chiang Mai and riding down Doi Suthep and are a bit heavier set and tend to brake a lot, then yes, these 220mm rotors would help especially with brake fade.

actually with this new standard release, the fork manufacture sure will try to adapt and make compatible for DH fork. There is nothing we can do nor we can ignore. This is business trend.
*
I don't get what you are trying to explain here. "Fork manufacture sure will try to adapt and make compatible for DH fork" ?????

After it become main stream will change accordingly. Like boost standard.

What becomes mainstream? DH forks? What are you referring to the fork manufacturers that it will become mainstream?

you see.. now DH fork you want buy non boost also not available anymore. You get it or not?

So if 220mm become main steam, direct mount for DH fork do you think still will make 203mm standard anymore?
*
Oh, you are referring to standards. I think you got the standards confused right? Because boost is the sizing in terms of the gap. But even with forks, with boost and non-boost you have fork travels from 100mm all the way to 220mm.

The same with rotor sizes, from small all the way to large size. From thickness differences (thicker for ebike standards) but at the end of the day, the standards by which the rotors are usually used when mounted is either you use a 6 screw or a center lock.

So again, how do you take rotor sizes going mainstream in comparison to the boost standard? Because whether it is non-boost, boost and super boost, the fork travel will have different varying sizes based on the style of riding. Similar for rotor size, different people will have different uses for it. Nothing wrong with choosing the one that suits you the most.

QUOTE(pretty23 @ Nov 3 2021, 02:11 PM)
that mean it is business talk. They force you to change.

imagine you use previous DH fork non boost. Now you want replace but no more brand new for non boost now.

Imagine in future one day brand new DH fork come with 220 direct mounting hole, but you got brand new 203mm rotor, how your feeling? I believe this gonna happen in future.

So what I mean is when a new standard release, when it become main stream, those manufacture will do something change on their product.
*
Of course, they are a business not a fcking charity. They want you to change but you as the consumer have the right not to change. But first and foremost let me tell you a secret, you don't mount the rotor to the fork.

p.s. no one is forcing you to change, I know a lot of riders who are using non-boost standard equipment and now they enjoy getting bargains on equipment that are non-boost in nature. Also that allows for a good 2nd hand market for the non-boost standard bikes to be cheaper which gives a good lower barrier of entry for many folks.

now spare part less and less for old standard. Especially those common brand which many people like to use.

need to resist a change also not so easy.
*
Sorry for you bro, btw SuperBoost is already on its way. The new Evil bikes already sport SuperBoost standards especially for the rear

Hi all,

is it illegal to carry two mtb like this?

Me and my friends with bikes on his Ford Ranger has passed JPJ roadblocks with bikes on the bed (number plate still clearly visible). So far no issues.

As long as the bikes are properly tied down or you use a tailgate pad to ensure that the bikes are secured down.

Is it possible change mtb tyre 27.5, 2.25 to a hybrid tyre? No need change rim?
*
What is a hybrid tyre? One for offroad and gravel? As long as you get the right tyre size (27.5" diameter) then you don't need to change rims
