Thanks alll, i got u guys.
If im cycling on road, just get a roadbike, if i understand correctly..

Anyone have experience with this java j-air souh mtb anyway?  currebtly on promotion, so tempting..

No experience with this brand and model, but a quick internet search reveals it’s a good enough entry-level MTB cross-country bike. And definitely suits the type of riding you do, based on your previous post.

I wanna ask something, for gravel and road rides mtb

those groupset which ones are nice? The Deore vs SRAM SX

and is the more expensive groupsets really worth for road rides, like what's the difference in the use on Deore vs Deore XT

Currently using cheap bike with altus RD and it doesn't shift that well
*
I’m partial towards Shimano , and for road rides on an MTB, either Deore or XT is good enough. But XT is pricier.

Hi Sifu,

My mtb rear wheel not align. Possible the axle damaged
Thanks sifus

Why do you suspect the axle is bent? Could be the rear derailleur is bent. Can’t really make it out from the pictures.

If axle is bent, you probably can’t slot your wheels in properly and the brake disc cannot enter through the calliper.

any recommend place/website/shoppe/lazada to buy and view the MB for kid age 9 ( height 110-120cm)?
*
If I may suggest, never buy cheap kids bike from online. Go to a physical shop to view, test ride. And if you buy from shop, you get lifetime support to fix things.

need some advise.
my son going to SMK nearby house next year. i've been considering to get him a bike to let him go & back from school himself.
the distance between school & house is less than 2km.
which is more suitable, mountain bike or hybrid bike?
*
What do you mean by hybrid bike? You mean a foldable one?

Since it’s a school, a simple hardtail mountain bike should do.

hi guys any forest MTB trail place to recommend a newbie in Klang Valley?

i'm looking to start with Bukit Kiara Downhill Mountain Bike Trail, would it be too extreme for a newbie in the sport?
*
If you prefer open wide spaces and lung-busting climbs, but suitable for beginners, then can give Kemensah trails a try.

would a RM400 mtb be sufficient for those beginner trails?
*
Going uphill should not be a problem, but coming down is. The brakes may not be up to the task on a MTB that price.

where is biggest specialized shop/distributor in KV?

Not sure if it’s the biggest and baddest, but there’s one at TTDI.

i haven't cut the cables yet and there's still plenty of it left.

the thing is, i don't have a car big enough to accommodate the bike so i'm pretty much stuck with DIY and i don't dare to cycle it to the nearest bicycle shop (which is also quite far) because i only have one working brake on the bike now and it isn't the best one.

i did try to adjust the handlebar angle against the brake pinch by turning it right and then adjusting the cable to ensure there is no pinch but with that, once the handlebar is turned straight, there is no zero tension on cable and depressing the brake lever does nothing.

Have you lubricated the cable housing before threading in the cables?

they came lubricated but does lubrication causes the problem i'm facing?

not sure what witchcraft is happening.
*
Could be lubrication issue , or it could be the cable itself isn’t good quality. Are you using Jagwire?

i don't know what type of wires i was supplied with. this is my first bike and i wanted to try it out before really splurging.

but to me, this feels like a tension issue.

(1) when the handlebar is straight then all is well;
(2) when the handlebar is turned right, the length of the cable becomes short and it pulls the cable causing the unwanted braking;
(3) when the handlebar is turned left, the length of the cable extends and looses all tension in between.

rclxub.gif

i'm so dumfounded right now.

why is assembling a bicycle break cable so difficult  sad.gif
*
What you are describing are symptoms of cable tension due to inside friction or bad cable quality. My advice is to spray some WD40 into the cable housing or perhaps change to better quality Jagwire cables.

spray the entire length of the cable or just a certain particular part?
*
Not the entire length of the cable, just the two ends of the housing will do. Take out the cable first and spray into the two ends.
