Hi, I want to know anyone here that has bought and fitted the "refurbished original" 4 pot Brembo brake kit (not those Taiwan replicas) which you can now find a lot in mudah for around RM3500 to RM 5000?

I just want to know your experience so far owning these brake kit and whether it is a good investment cause I'm really thinking of getting it.

I know some ppl will say "why need BBK and all, it will make your car heavy and really waste your money change better pads, SBH and change oil will do etc..... "

Reasons that my car need BBK:-

1) I've been driving this car for few years now with new brembo pads rotors, change oil and all, but still the car's brake is really not enough
2) Car has been tuned. Its brakes is not so great even when it is stock
3) Definitely looks better
4) Its my car tongue.gif

Please share your experience and don't be shy smile.gif, i really want to know before i make a decision.

For the safety purposes especially for tuned cars, good tires and brakes are necessary.

My previous Golf Gti MK5 stage 2, the stock single pot brake failed even the previous owner invested good rotor, pad, brake fluid and steel braided hose, single pot don’t have the power to grip.

If one doesn’t know how to appreciate a good braking system, simply because he/she in different boat, waste your time explaining to them, just walk away.

long as u are sure its genuine, i am told there are unscrupulous buggers selling replicas as 'refurbished originals'.... if you can disassemble the calipers, look at the machining work around the seals.... thats where the difference will show.

all the best

*dah ade one kaki kene, 6 pots 5k.... yea~ quoted as original refurbs but our mech says they are replicas. Machining on the inside x sama. tried to find the seller, guy says his supplier said its original rebuilds for sure and now has blocked my friend.
if i remember correctly pads are compatible, rebuild kit, and its weight tbh im not sure.

Well said. Stock brakes are good if you leave your car stock and dont do spirited drives, occasionally. Have to take note though, that though the purchase of original BBK is important, the person who would be installing and his workmanship is important too as it involves a lot of work to fit the bbk to the car.

Any possibility of upgrading your brakes and reduce braking distance is a positive mod for sure. However, as to the necessity of it, in many cases it's mostly always for personal glory and topic amongst car enthusiast . sweat.gif

Typically, the following are done for gradual improvement after good tires. Pads, then brake hoses, then rotors. For normal street cars, they are usually sufficient. Had a DBA rotors with uprated brakes on my 2003 Toyota Vios 1.5, and they made a lot of difference in braking distance, even for my Sepang track days then. 4 pot BBK is overkill for street use for my Vios as I don't race with others nor do I drive dangerously which requires constant hard braking. If on the street, you constantly need to slam on the brakes, then it isn't the brakes, it's your driving.

I upgraded my previous FD2R stock brembo 4 pots to Js Racing 6 pot for track days. Improve my lap times as I could brake later going into turns. For my 2015 WRX STI, the stock brembos melted and faded after 3 laps at Sepang and almost slammed into barriers. All I did this time, was changed the rotors to DBA slotted rotors and DBA pads. Next track day, even with 8 laps also no brake fade.

So, given my own personal experiences and upgrades, really really ask yourself, do you really NEED or WANT it? Need it and want it, lain tau laugh.gif

But money is yours. An upgrade is always good. Just remember to have good tires to go along with it, otherwise, your money spent on brakes won't be well spent.

I'm stuck in this dilemma also..... to either go with refurbished Brembo F50, or the new Nashin N3. Similar in price, both are 4 pots, both have similar sized discs (355mm vs 345mm), both have options for brakepads (0-550, 0-650, etc..).

Anyone have fitted either of these and tracked them?

My friend is using Nashin 6pot on his F30, never track b4, so far so good on street, price reasonable, at least original product, not sure performance on track or extreme condition.

Let me share with you some experience, I sell BBK few years back when I was active on modding cars, for the refurbished F50, caliper mostly replica, even the factory in China purposely produced it and sell as refurbished to mislead buyer, secondly, what rotor and brake pad they give? I can say mostly Taiwan as I know off, because just the Brembo’s original floating rotor + pads could cost 3-4k, if the seller offer below 5k for the whole package with steel braided and installation, then you must be careful. However, if the rotor/brake are used too, make sure you know how to check how much lifespan left.

If original and bought from trusted sellers then ok. I also use a refurbished 4 pot (Sumitomo) for like 5 years now, all still working fine as expected.

I’d go for nashin brake set if going for new. If not I’ll just hunt for original half-cut such as endless, ap racing or pmu but those will cost a bomb

Emm, its consider cheap due to the branding are yet to be well known. Don't worry, this seller is the official distributor for Malaysia. I believe he has most of the things that you query. Well, he is an old fren of mine, so i do trust. You can always visit this place. Basically he got more than what you need in terms of BBK.

or anything u can PM me too.
