Hi please help, i am staying in a double storey house and in my room on the second floor i am getting good 90mbps speed. But my parent downstairs are getting 9-20mbps, which kind of disappoint my father bcs he is paying the rm136 every month and he is getting slow speeds. Is there any proven gadget that will work to make the ground floor speed better???

The deco is not router. Still need a router..

Connect one m5 to router. Then place the rest around the house
*
What does they mean by "Router/access point mode" in their specification?

It's connected to the router via cable. I didnt consider disconnecting it before.

So ur configuration is :

Mesh A connect to router via lan

Mesh B and C placed in other parts of the house without Lan

Right?

You could use it as a router i think, but it only has two ethernet ports while the normal router has 4. I have some devices on the top floor still connected to the router via cable.

If I can use it as router, then I prefer to not use unifi router since it is ugly. I don't need more than 1 ethernet ports since everyone is using wifi in my house. Even TV also I use wifi instead of LAN cable.

Normally I would recommend a powerline but they wont work well in 3 phase households, especially if both socket outlets are on different phases. Had the misfortune once in my old place.
*
Ah. That sucks.
I guess repeater/extender is the way to go.

Also wanna sell your powerline? Huehuehuehie

some good info

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=4856061&hl=

right now I would like to recommend ASUS RT-AC67U AC1900 AiMesh RM 748 for two routers

can be linked with aimesh system

excerpts from his review

ASUS AiMesh is the most feature rich and flexible mesh WiFi system in the market today. ASUS RT-AC67U is an AC1900 mesh WiFI system unlike more mesh WiFi system you have seen in the market. It is developed to cover your entire home with strong WiFi coverage and fast WiFi speed.

The performance of the RT-AC67U is really impressive. Previously, the WiFi speed at point D is barely usable due to multiple walls in between and the use of metal door in my apartment. By having the RT-AC67U mesh WiFi system, it effectively improve the WiFi speed and coverage in my entire apartment. The AiMesh node will help due to my rectangular shape layout. There is only so much a WiFi router can transmit due to regulation.

You might want to check on reviews if the deco can be used as a router to confirm.

Yeah. I have been reading reviews, but I didn't really pay attention on the router part. I need to re-read and look for the keyword sweat.gif

One more thing I was wondering, is it worth to pay more for M9 Plus or M5 is more than enough? Did you make research on that before?

I gave it away haha. You can consider repeater/extender or wire if its not too much of a hassle. When i moved into my new place I had CAT6 cables pulled from the fibre modem to the unifi router on the ground and one from there to another router acting as an accesspoint in my study.

Just use mesh wifi. Any brand can do if for 2 story 100mbps speed. Very easy to setup. Font bother about repeater/range extender bullshit.

Deco m4 is enough for 2 node less than rm 400

repeater is always 50/50 I kid you not-definitely for TS who seems clueless about all this

during normal days it works as it should, but on some days when u need it the most it will gone haywire and you need to start all over again with the setup

good if you have extra router to play around

not good if you dont have any and thinking to save some money and buy one
