I've been eyeing for a 1080p 24" monitor lately, and too many reviews have opt for the AOC 24G2 as the best choice in terms of colour production and overdrive performance. Personally, I think it only falls short in terms of viewing angles.

I haven't purchased, just been eyeing - but I plan to buy the 24G2 end of July/August.

AOC 24G2 is a good consideration. Btw, I'm considering the 27G2 seriously.

1) Price (in terms of IPS), 2) Freesync (I have an AMD GPU), 3) Adjustable stand, 4) Colour reproduction, 5) (MAYBE) G sync compatible via display port (27inch model is listed in Nvidia's website)

I have the same thought as you back then with my 20" --> 24", many years ago.

But then now, with all the media available online, feel the need from 24"--->27". Haha. Give it a good thought.

I see, I’m using rtx atm but still can enable the sync using nvdia control panel. My 1st option is the acer but no stock everywhere. I think gonna pick the asus after lot of research 😂

I’m choosing acer because it is the cheapest ips monitor compare to those 2 monitors. And the spec is almost the same as asus. I’m choosing asus over aoc because I’m lil sucker for that brand and the price different just around rm30. I’ve some review on reddit that say aoc had poor view angle and bad ghosting when on low fps but some did not have any issues with their aoc.

That’s why I asked for opinion here to get more clarification but it’s all end up to your own design preference because the specification almost identical

I am also lookin for a 144hz 1080p monitor and many is directing to the AOC 24G2. Personally I don't think the viewing angle will be that much of a problem. Have you decided on which one and where did you plan to buy it?

I see, most sellers on Shopee/Lazada is selling >800. I suppose the warranty is 3 years right? Might go to lowyat and take a look at the monitors before buying.

There shouldn't be any change of viewing distance if you switch from 24 inch to 27 inch
You would only need to change your viewing distance if you go above 27 inch

I haven't bought yet the AOC, but mostly seeing 799 now. Some selling 750 pre-MCO but now stocks are scarce. Btw both 24G2 and VG249Q using the same panel it seems.

Actually which among those 3 are better?
the aoc, asus, xv240vp?

Someone said the asus/acer is better quality than aoc? the sales person said aoc might breakdown after 2-3 years.

Looks pretty neck and neck for ASUS vs Acer in terms of specs. If i were you, i'd go for the XV240VP - cheaper and better warranty.

Asus and AOC isn't too different in price. Just RM40 extra, but there's some issues with both models too. TS bought which one?

Hi sifus, sorry for the late reply. Just got back from outstation yesterday.

So I bought Asus VG259QM (24.5 inch) because I had a few extra budget and it was superb I tell you.

Went from 75hz (previous monitor and currently made it as 2nd monitor) to 240hz was amazing. It was a huge difference especially playing FPS game.

If I'm still in the previous budget i will choose:

1. Acer XV240YP (because it is cheaper)
2. Asus VG249Q (because of asus laugh.gif )
3. AOC 24G2

Nice, most probably I'll get the Acer too because its about RM100 cheaper than the AOC 24G2 and has 165Hz refresh rate max. Only thing is now everywhere no stock.

Anyone know/has experience with Acer warranty service?

i think u need to catch the right timing for stock available because I think also its high in demand. For my experience, I never had any problem with their warranty/service (also because it rarely malfunctions/spoil)

Yeah, it’s hard to find. And I think the Acer XV240YP is quite new so don’t have a lot of reviews on it. Hahaha

good specs with cheap price I think everyone will sure get their hands on it. Design wise, its very minimalist, almost similar to the KG series. Tt has an overdrive software system to improve gaming experience. Fps and stuff seems fine. My review is based on videos I watched so yeah haha. Ultimately, its very budget friendly.
