Hi, this is my first time posting in the lowyat forums and I'm kind of in a bind right now. My 2006 Intel iMac won't boot up and the usual tricks like holding down F12 / Eject / Mouse Button during startup won't eject a DVD movie disc. I have a feeling that the stuck disc is the cause of it. How did it get stuck in the first place? Well, I was in a rush to shut down and forgot to eject the disc before shutting down, so my bad there...

Help much appreciated. Don't feel like driving down to the nearest AppleCare Center unless I really have to.

Put two CD's into the disk slot (above and below the disk that's stuck) with the iMac OFF and then restart with the eject key depressed. The idea is to lever the stuck disk such that the eject command is then able to actuate the eject mechanism.

Usually works with slot loads for me...
