Audley all the way....just because Tamiya doesnt provide the motor when buying the set. I've always thought that was stupid.
*
Eh, got ma.. They provide the stock motor which was damn slow to begin with.

Fastest motor back then were those Taiwanese motor. It cost about RM70 and it was damn fast.

The plastic body of Tamiya cars can't withstand the speed, so you need to install some metal plating.

are those taiwanese motor Tamiya brand?

GOKEY > ALL

gokey quality is quite good lor , full set gear + AWD not liek cheapo chine where only use 2 gear then keep spinning

still remember i paired my gokey with tamiya original power dash motor .

I personally modify these motors. It's either you reduce the coil of the wire which allows it to go faster but heats up fast. Or;

Use thicker wires. You need soldering tools to make it work.

Not add in ka? I also forgot dy, I only remember after modified the motor will become a lot louder and hotter. Even fried a few before I managed to find out the proper way to do it. laugh.gif

If it's a yellow cap, I assume you're referring to the 'Torque Tuned' motor.

This motor is slow  tongue.gif

I paired the motor with duracell ultra batteries, damn fast when I played at my local mall even against a kid with the all black motor. From my experience battery > motor.

I'm too young to understand all these stuff back then.
My hippy big cousin from kl visiting me, showing his Tamiya fav.

Sarawak pipu has no access to tv3 yet, back then.
I'm clueless about the cartoon

Even now, people host Tamiya grand race at my convocation day.
Enjoy the race, but not their customization part
Seeing all those stacked tool box
Too edgy for me.

I loved Auldey's Race-Tin cars. I remember saving up my lunch money for a couple of months before I could afford to buy one lol
