Acquired by Tenaga(TNB) and renamed to Allo Technology as its telco division.

Local server ping as low as only 1ms. That is Cyberjaya users to a Cyberjaya based server using a 1Gbps symmetrical line.
*
means TNB have its own upstream and downstream and not linked to TM ?

TNB Allo(City Broadband) does not have their own DNS, they apply Google DNS by default on all their subscriber's stock routers.Heck they don't even have their own speed test server and they buy wholesale bandwidth almost entirely from NTT Asia for their international transit access.
My advise is use a good Singaporean VPN server owned by a reputable ISP. That'll remove re-route you out from your ISP's default routing while still maintaining acceptable response timing as it's closest to Malaysia.

You can try Google Cloud VPN, Amazon or SG.GS based VPN services to avoid your standard ISP routing paths.
*
i don't see NTT Asia is that bad.. they still have reputation among Asia countries. Most ISP are getting their transit or peering.

Lastly still better than Unifi routing and speed.

Lately, TM has been experiencing internet access problems to international servers. It is possible that TM is currently using an alternative route.

Just compare the posts between Unifi's and Allo's
Every few pages you'll see people asking "hey xxx area dc again?", "why my ping so bad tonight"
Not seeing many people complaining about Allo's stability here...

As an Unifi user myself, I can tell you unifi's international routing is horrible especially to EU
They route traffic to EU from MY to HK, back to SG then finally to EU...adding extra latencies
Every couple weeks/months now always got weird issues at Unifi's end
Today's network issue cant even be fixed by using VPN....

If you got the option to choose, get Allo
Honest review from someone stuck with Unifi on 20 more months of contract
*
unifi was been great at before this, problem start when 1st MCO starting March 2020 then keep on and off having issue on their international link till today.

even i been feedback numerous of time to them that their international seriously congested but they dont care even simply saying is not their problem and keep pushing the issue back to customer with many funny excuses which is ridiculous.

i also wait my contract up to move other provider and i also waiting Allo arriving to my place.

i receive news that EU link will be back on service by mid march onwards. hope is true

I heard before 2020 70~80% of Johor will be covered by Allo
At the moment Impian Emas, Senai, Saleng, Kulai are installing infra
Other places not sure

If you see new poles getting erected at unifi covered areas, likely to be Allo
*
they expand so fast for whole johor region? or johor central ? hmm.gif hmm.gif

many many years ago, streamyx users were facing limited port issue...

with fibre, thought things will set to change, but many are still facing limited port issue!!!

what the heck TM is doing in 21st technology????

besides, if your area is covered with fibre cable, you might not be able to subscribe maxis and digi ones because TM restricted that..

FYI,

TM 30mbps package
Cost: RM89
DL: 30mbps
UL: 10mpbs

Maxis 30mbps package
Cost: RM89
DL: 30mbps
UL: 30mbps

Digi 50mbps package
Cost: RM90
DL:50mbps
UL: 50mbps
*
TM is not stupid, they know if they open up all telco to let consumer subscribe, TM is the first who affected by this.

TM try to control thing and make the thing difficult to others Telco and consumer who wanna subscribe.

so there is no fair competition at all.

end up only TM is the winner.

hope Allo will open up more and lets others telco to join in and let consumer subscribe.

Huh, I guess Allo is a lot more strict on giving out Public IPs...

For me on Maxis I literally just asked for a public IP, without even giving a reason, and they gave.
*
allo have limited prefix for ip4, they are not same like maxis or celcom or TM that they allocate enough ip4 for public ips use.

I already told them I want public IP for cctv but they still rejected my application.
Then i asked, as a paying customer, why the other can get but i can't. Then they replied me that under the TNC, only business line can get public IP.
But I read the TNC, no such mentioned there.
So i am asking their clarification, which clause that is?
Still waiting the answer.
*
try request static IP maybe pay on some fees , base on their IPs allocation are limited i dont think they able to giving out every single request for public ips

Hi

Anyone facing issues on high latency while playing games like League of Legends and Maplestory?

It seems that there is a really high latency and I can only fix it by connecting to VPN, which I dont really want to pay for it.

Here is the tracert result.

City broadband is saying they are only responsible for issues from network hop 1 to hop 6, after hop 6 will be beyond their control.

Who can I contact on this kind of issue?
*
source to destination >> ok
destination to source >> wrong BGP path... traffic from the destination sent back to ISP was longest path

ask Allo fix back their BGP path they able to do it.

base on traceroute/MTR result after ISP hops to public internet upstream or you have server in (destination) can check on MTR/traceroute.

Update:
This is what I get from their reply. From what I know, I assume the problem is on StarHub but they refuse to fix it for me because I'm not their subscriber/customer. Does anyone know how to report this issue?

Allo:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Garena:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Hurricane Electric:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

StarHub:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
problem is from Garena itself.. they sending the traffic back to Allo via USA>Allo or JP>HK>SG>Allo.

or maybe you could ask Allo to change the traffic to NTT not using He.net... as far i know Singtel,Starhub,M1 no friendly routes to MY especially using He.net.

only direct peering or IX peering would help out this issue.

How can I verify the traffic that sends it back to me? traceroute is only able to do from source to destination right?
*
traffic from destination to source only able verify by looking up on latency and unable to view full routing map on their side unless you have access on it to perform traceroute/MTR.

but ISP may look on it via their BGP mapping.

becos less ppl reporting the issue so they can choose to ignore even TM also the same.

Starhub residential and IDC routing is different. unable give you full view on the routing map

Hi guys, can someone help report on this high latency issue? Traffic that goes through this IP (168.143.232.125) will be having a high ping. I had emailed Allo but no reply at all. So far Genshin and LoL Wild Rift are affected. Both also increase around 100ms.

ingress traffic back to Allo route to US back to ISP via Softbank

47.91.24.239 average ping are below 90-100ms if ISP have peering in with Softbank.

So Allo do that intentionally? Because it not the 1st time that happens and always on the hop 4 (168.143.232.125).
*
No

Allo need more peering otherwise this case will keep happening bcos ingress traffic provider will not choose shortest path route back to Allo bcos of peering agreement.
