tq = )

can't read Chinese at all , cuz i try to transfer Chinese mp3 to my phone and it shows some funny signs like this !@#*%&@
when i go to writing language , i only see English , Romanian , Greek , Bulgarian ,standard abc and 123

does that mean i hv to reflash my phone ? how much is that goin to cost normally ?
*
You have to flash to a firmware that can read Chinese and can input Chinese
Head back to the shop you buy and request for a reflash since you just bought it. If the person ask for cash, said you just bought it and hope he can give you a free reflash.

QUOTE(wilsonjack228 @ Oct 12 2007, 10:29 PM)
reflash your phone with the same software won't make any difference  hmm.gif  i think its because your phone is AP , (mainly imported from oversea and sell it to the consumers) and some AP is not chinese supported .
you just bought your phone , then go back to the shop ask is there a way to make it input chinese lo ... like mine ORI , it dun have greek , bulgarian . it only has english , indonesian , chinese , standard a.b.c , 123...
correct me if i'm wrong ..  laugh.gif  tongue.gif
*
@ Bold sentence : Reflashing firmware can solve the problem. AP set can also read and write Chinese character as AP set and original set has no different except for the warranty.

AP set is also a phone manufacture by Sony Ericsson. It's called AP because it's brought in here by some other company instead of authorize dealer like Thorus or Midland.

So, it can read Chinese. Just need firmware reflash.

Be careful of doing that yourself, the warranty will void if you cause anything wrong to your phone and the AP company will not responsible for that. I'd recommend -r|E'|quad- not to do it yourself. Since you just bought it, head on ask for a free reflash. It's just one day and I believe they can do it for you free.

ya i know, i said reflash the phone with the same software(firmware) , won't make any difference
and i know AP does read chinese , but some doesn't ... dun get me wrong ....
no offence .. laugh.gif

Yeah. Same firmware for sure won't affect anything. Change to a firmware that can read Chinese and support Chinese Input for sure will make AP set to have Chinese character reading and Input. Any AP set can do that. smile.gif

Yes, any mod will void the warranty. No matter it's a menu mod or camera driver mod, it will void the warranty. smile.gif

Should I buy the red K810 or wait for the K850,eh?

It's up to you, your budget, your need of 5MP or 3MP.
K850 is newer phone so if you want to use the phone for longer time and walkman in phone, head on to K850 then smile.gif

Don't really need the walkman. But the K810 really attracts me, but so do the K850. The camera is important though, but after seeing lots of pictures of the K850's cam, i really have to think twice about it. And also, the price of the original K850 will also be around RM2100+, I guess.
*
Yes original price will be around RM 2xxx. K850i still have improvement in future as the newer firmware for sure will solve the not so nice photo taken by 1st batch firmware.

If you're not in a hurry to get a phone, wait for K850i 2nd firmware. If it show a very good photos, go ahead and grad one for yourself then smile.gif

hi.. can i know whats the latest version firmware for K810i? Does it bring any difference if i dint upgrade it? where can i upload it for free? will it affect my warranty? sorry for all those questions. Thanks for replying.  smile.gif
*
Latest firmware : R6BC001.

Updating firmware will solve some bugs in previous firmware or add in new features depending on the change log of the firmware.

Updating for free, use Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)

Updating through SEUS won't void the warranty.

I don't think that k810i can only support up to 2GB.. it's just that there is no 4GB M2 in Malaysia, yet..
*
Mate, K810i can support up to 2GB as some of the forumer here already using it. Even K800i can use 2GB, I see no reason why K810i can't.

Mate, re-read my sentence. I mean the max shouldn't be only 2GB, k810i should support 4GB and 8GB(in the future) when it reaches Malaysia..
*
sweat.gif my mistake. Sorry.
4GB need a firmware update from SEUS I assume to make it support smile.gif

QUOTE(wilsonjack228 @ Oct 17 2007, 08:37 AM)
you can take your phone to SE service centers and ask them to flash your phone ..
if your phone is original and is under warranty they will flash it for free . If its AP they will
charge you $$ . tongue.gif this method won't void your warranty .. laugh.gif
*
Some SEUS won't help to update AP set even you're willing to pay the money for it. smile.gif

Dear KTCY,

It's a gift.... phone (standard complete set) + 1GB m2 memcard....
i don't have any proof of purchase.... unsure.gif
*
Hi there,

What's your memory card brand ? Sandisk or Sony ? As currently there isn't any fake (AFAIK) M2 yet. And all Sony and Sandisk M2 comes with 5 years warranty.

Regarding the warranty, you can always ask from both Sandisk and Sony company. If can't then since it's gift, I'm sure your friend or who ever give it to you this gift will keep the receipt. Just try to ask from then the receipt or box (as memory card comes in box) so that you can claim a new one smile.gif

Should be can claim as the box as the proof of buying the genuine M2 right ?
The warranty should be 5 years for genuine M2 (I think there isn't any fake M2 available at market yet)

new k810i user here. Ivory blue Thorus set + 2GB Sandisk M2 for RM 1495. I was an ex-k750i user. I must say this is a huge leap. Almost everything was upgraded and I am overall very satisfied with the phone. My only complain is the battery life. My phone could only last for 2 days max if i spam my music. My k750i can last twice as long.

oh btw, can add me to the list?
*
Hi there. Welcome aboard.
The battery life can be spice up by turning off the 3G mode if you're not using it. Try check under setting at network selection there. Choose to GSM mode only and I believe you can stay longer with a single charge smile.gif

*
Yes as the phone will be keep searching for available 3G line at your place so it will still consume more battery life.

yeah... i'm a digi user as well... good question....

Choose GSM mode as even your telco doesn't have 3G but your phone will still searching for 3G line that available. So, indirectly the battery will drain faster.
