nowadays, tire manuals and car manuals ask to rotate. except for certain cars, with uni-directional tires, and staggered setups, cannot rotate.

tire rotation to make all 4 tires wear evenly feels good, so most people will choose to believe it. this same argument is used over and over again, and this type of data is really difficult to collect. in fact, afaik tire rotation was to utilize a set of 5 tires including spare on a 4x4 using A/T tires on roads, so they can be changed out together.

rotating tires may overlook other issues with the car - mechanical or suspension related. if choose to rotate, make sure to seek advise and resolve the issue as well.
